Please test with 12.04 which has a new library (libwacom) which gnome- settings-daemon uses for figuring out corner cases like these. ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846509 Title: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/846509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 846509] Re: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative
Hey ismise, Hi, thanks for reporting this issue during the development period of Ubuntu. I notice there's not been further comments to the bug report since the release came out, would you mind updating us on the status of it in the release? Are you still able to reproduce the issue? If not, do you think the bug report can be closed, or do you think we should continue tracking it?
I'm still using the same Oneiric install, upgraded to the Release version. Checking with dconf-editor, the default value of org/gnome /settings-daemon/peripherals/wacom/cursor/is-absolute is still true, and setting it to the default causes the problem again. So yes, I'd say the problem is still there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846509 Title: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/846509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 846509] Re: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative
Thank you S MUCH for that workaround! I agree that it should be set to false by default. Next would be adding a GUI for the pointer under the Wacom Settings. [Bug 846509] Re: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative
I'm confused.. wacom should use absolute by default; when you point the pen to a location on the tablet the cursor will jump to that location on the screen, right? Touchpads (and mice, obviously) are relative. ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Timo Aaltonen (tjaalton) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846509 Title: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/846509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 846509] Re: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative
Yes, the pen should be absolute by default, but the Bamboo Fun also comes with a mouse (called cursor in the settings), and this should be set to relative -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846509 Title: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/846509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 846509] Re: Bamboo Fun Mouse using absolute positioning instead of relative
I've found a workaround for this: Using dconf-editor, set org/gnome /settings-daemon/peripherals/wacom/cursor/is-absolute to false. Shouldn't false be the default for this key?
