Hi Bryce, As I stated in an earlier comment, this bug appears to have fixed itself and I haven't had any issues since. You probably should close this report now. [Bug 851526] Re: 3D no longer works after latest updates
Hey christhehorton, Hi, thanks for reporting this issue during the development period of Ubuntu. I notice there's not been further comments to the bug report since the release came out, would you mind updating us on the status of it in the release? Are you still able to reproduce the issue? If not, do you think the bug report can be closed, or do you think we should continue tracking it? ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/851526 Title: 3D no longer works after latest updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/851526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am kind of surprised that you are getting OK performance as for me, it is so slow that it is almost unusable. Also, I'm getting occasional X lockups, too. Weird thing is that things worked fine in Natty w/ Unity 3D on my setup (w/ nouveau). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/851526 Title: 3D no longer works after latest updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/851526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 851526] Re: 3D no longer works after latest updates
Hi Scott, I have not been running Unity 3D for the past week or so (switched over to GNOME Shell on my desktop), but when I last used it everything seemed fine performance-wise except the lenses being just slightly slow and the Alt+Tab window switcher performing so slowly as to be almost painful to use. I get none of these performance problems with the 11.10 install on my laptop, which instead suffers from window flickering when switching between windows on the same workspace (see bug 881003). At any rate, I imagine these would all be separate bugs on their own and don't belong here. [Bug 851526] Re: 3D no longer works after latest updates
Hi WarriorIng64, Is Unity 3D still running well for you with Oneiric on your system? The reason I ask is that I have the same video card and a similar motherboard, but Unity 3D is performing poorly for me.

Actually, upon closer observation, those commands are having me run Unity 3D on top of Unity 2D at the same time. I just noticed that I get 2 Dashes and 2 launchers from that workaround! [Bug 851526] Re: 3D no longer works after latest updates
I think I've just found a temporary workaround for myself: if I log into Unity 2D then run: compiz --replace ...followed by (in a separate tab): unity --replace ...then I get Unity 3D back...somewhat. I'm still stuck with 2D's launcher, but at least I can get Expo, Grid, the new Alt+Tab, the Dash, etc., back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/851526 Title: 3D no longer works after latest updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/851526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
