When i try Kernel Version 2.6.20-9-generic i got this warning! The PCI allocate resource problem didnt show up this time! Starting up ... Loading, please wait... It seems that the kernel is not finding your '/' (root) partition. Do you happen to know what it is? If so you could manually edit the kernel boot line and change root to '/dev/sda99' or whatever is appropriate to get it to boot. After getting it to boot you will then want to use 'vol_id /dev/sda99' to determine the right UUID for your '/' (root) partition.
