[Bug 885224] Re: Inkscape user interface functions don't work
If the problem is related to gtk, then there may be another issue... GIMP doesn't work properly either From the dependencies: libcairo2 1.11.3+git20111015.3813066f-0ubuntu1~11.10~ricotz0 You seem to have installed an unstable version of cairo (development snapshot from git master - unlikely the default on (K(ubuntu) 11.10) - do these interface failures also occur with the current stable cairo version (1.10.2)? Any other custom packages installed which might interfere with gtk2 and gtk2 theme engines on Kubuntu? Possibly related to Bug #889045 in cairo (Ubuntu): “Gtk+ widgets gets currupt when using oxygen-gtk after libcairo2 upgrade” https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/889045 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885224 Title: Inkscape user interface functions don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/885224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 885224] Re: Inkscape user interface functions don't work
Unstable version of libcairo2 comes from ppa xorg edgers Fixed the immediate issue by changing the GTK+ Appearance in System Settings to Raleigh and then back to oxygen-gtk Works fine. Downgrading libcairo2 has apt-get wanting to upgrade. Getting that back to stable state would involve deactivating xorg-edgers repository...and there are some intel driver goodies in there that are needed for best performance on this machine. [Bug 885224] Re: Inkscape user interface functions don't work
Closing as 'Invalid' for Inkscape based on user feedback - please reopen if you think this was done in error and the problem with the 'oxygen- gtk' theme under current KDE/Kubuntu needs to be addressed in Inkscape's code. ** Changed in: inkscape Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885224 Title: Inkscape user interface functions don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/885224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 885224] Re: Inkscape user interface functions don't work
This bug should be closed or moved to a forum. The problem is related to System Settings Application Appearance GTK+ Appearance changing GTK + styles, Widget style (dropdown) to Raleigh made Inkscape and GIMP work properly. After launching both apps, changing that Raleigh to oxygen-gtk made them look purdy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885224 Title: Inkscape user interface functions don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/885224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 885224] Re: Inkscape user interface functions don't work
If the problem is related to gtk, then there may be another issue... GIMP doesn't work properly either some functions work, but selection-copy-paste as new layer produces no result. I haven't tried all functions. Please advise if this should be posted elsewhere. This doesn't appear to be an issue for other Inkscape users based on response (and lack of) from the Inkscape Users mailing list.
