This is an absurd discussion and takes Ubuntu to a level of a playschool. This is my opinion. Why?? Here only two justifications. For more discussing please contact me per mail or in the forum 1.Because the new (old) splash is (was) art. And art has (must) to been free. This is the granted right of an free society. 2.If this splash shows an phallic symbol, we have to remember that such an symbol is not mandatory pornographic or (read in a forum) gay. In fact it is an symbol of force and fecundity and this for more than one century. Rather, is Ubuntu not equipped with force and fecundity in the sense of technical evolution??? So, nobody has to be embarrassed about, I think. Least of all the people who rule out things like Thank you for made my son gay. So please bring the artwork back and let us be free!! Frank, No matter what you do, whether it be making a logo or composing a soundtrack, someone is going to complain if there is something wrong. That looks disgusting! That song offends my religion! I don't like the way you wrote that! Ubuntu is going to be catering to everybody, and if there is a large group (like now) that complains about it, it will most likely be changed. I actually didn't notice the splash myself, nor did I really care once it was pointed out. But there was a population of people (Digg) that apparently had a problem with it, so it was changed. The logo was swapped now with an even newer edition, and there is a low chance that it will be changed back. The logo mentioned in this bug was online for less than a week, and we already have a newer edition, which doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it. I must say I am forced to agree. I work in a small office where I own the only Linux workstation. Linux ridiculed on a daily basis here, and this splash screen isn't going to help matters. Yes myself and my colleagues agree that the new splash screen resembles a penis. I asked them in a non-leading manner, eg What do you think of that? It looks like a penis.
