Same. I can reproduce with emacs22 22.1-0ubuntu4, but not with
emacs-snapshot 20070930-1ubuntu1.

2007-08-28 Thread Jason Spiro
Phil, I didn't try it with emacs -q. But your guess was right. I have
ido-mode, iswitchb-mode, and ffap-bindings all enabled.

(I really should rsync my .emacs file onto my website, or at least I
should attach it here. Unfortunately my laptop has no Internet
connectivity ATM.)

[Bug 95228] Re: Typing cd /t then pressing Tab in eshell causes an annoying popup

2007-07-08 Thread Phil Sung
Jason, do you remember if you were able to reproduce this under emacs
-Q? I cannot reproduce it (the annoying popup) under emacs -Q, but I
*am* getting it if my .emacs contains either (partial-completion-mode)
or (require 'ido).

This is on Gutsy, x86, emacs-snapshot 20070529.

Tramp probably thinks that the "t" in "/t" is the beginning of the tramp
method "telnet". Under the configurations that cause the popup to
appear, file completion (e.g. in find-file) lists both "/telnet:" and
"/tmp/" as completions for "/t".

Sorry, but "works for you" neither means that this issue has been fixed nor
that it is invalid.
Obviously, we can mark it "fix released" / "fix committed" if it is.

Why do you think this is invalid (if you cannot reproduce it, shouldn't
you mark / leave it "incomplete")?

Sadly I can't try to repro this anymore because I reformatted my HDD
and switched to FreeBSD UNIX. Is anyone else listening? People with
Emacs 22.x, could you try typing M-x eshell RET cd /t and let us
know if the bug happens for you?

Regards,
Jason

Sorry, of course it has not been reverted, only that I started emacs
instead.

But it is still true that I tried to reproduce this and failed. Gutsy x86,
emacs-snapshot version: 1:20070529-1
Emacs version 22.0.990.1

I tried to reproduce this and failed. Gutsy x86, emacs-snapshot version:
1:20070529-1

By the way it seems, that emacs-snapshot has been reverted to 21.4.1.
