Ah, so it was that simple.. I guess people who have simply done an upgrade see these crashes. [Bug 96663] Re: [nvidia-glx-legacy] glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV
Timo: If people can use later drivers than legacy then they should because the driver behaviour has changed. legacy will disable GLX when the COMPOSITE extension is on (and COMPOSITE is enabled by default since Edgy). See Bug #91064 for details on this. If people are seeing this and have an old card which can ONLY use the legacy driver it would be interesting to see how they ended up in this situation because if they enabled drivers via restricted-manager then this particular problem should be worked around. -- [nvidia-glx-legacy] glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96663 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 96663] Re: [nvidia-glx-legacy] glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV
It doesn't matter if the card works with a newer driver or not.. Looking at the Procmaps output of these dupes they all were using the legacy- driver. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info => Confirmed -- [nvidia-glx-legacy] glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96663 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 96663] Re: [nvidia-glx-legacy] glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV
SK8T: Correct - the Geforce 4 Ti should not really be using the legacy driver. the Geforce 4 Ti does not need the legacy driver or am I wrong?
