[Bug 96700] Re: neon-config --la-file points to non-existent file
After looking deeply into problem... 1. libneon.la was removed according to Debian policy 2. Debian policy will not be changed in near future 3. Subversion ( for example ) do not want to make their configure scripts OS-dependent This confrontation lasts for years, and after I've read enough posts about it - I don't think that there will be done anything about it... IMHO, the best solution will be to make neon-dependent configuration script ( i.e. subversion's autoconf ) OS dependent ( or at least pkg- config dependent ), but they don't want to... Somebody should make first step here. It's not a good looking situation when debian-based OSes are not compatible with subversion development. Printing location of .so file if .la file is absent is not quite right, but if we take that --la-file option is called to determine library against which link should be made, then .so answer is ok, imho. Probably with some warning, visible to user, to let them know what was done. In other words, something like attachment. It is not a good looking solution, nor a 'good style' solution, it's just a workaround, but I think it's better then 'Subversion sources are incompatible with Debian-based OSes without hand-work'.. ** Attachment added: patch-neon-config http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18700211/patch-neon-config -- neon-config --la-file points to non-existent file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96700 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 278259] Re: Intrepid ibex does not configure intel 945 properly
I'm reopening this bug as I have more info on it. I discovered that the error occurs when my tv-set is connected on startup. The external screen has an odd resolution of 1280x768 which is not supported by the internal display. The graphics card does not allow a virtal size enough for the two screens and ubuntu sets the screen mode to mirror and picks the resolution 1024x768, probably the largest common resolution. When mirroring, this cannot be changed, which is a greater issue. It however works perfectly on hardy, where the external screen just looses a few pixel on the top and bottom of the image. The next error occurs when I disconnect the external screen and change the resolution to normal. The screen gets a black area to the right where the mouse pointer can go, but not the gnome-panel. Maximizing windows aligns them with the edge of the to the black area. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Incomplete -- Intrepid ibex does not configure intel 945 properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278259 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 252444] Re: Regression - RT73 breaks after suspending in Intrepid Ibex alpha 3
I own a usb wireless device from DLink: The device is a DWA-110 (07d1:3c07). It has an internal ralink chipset (rt73). With rt73usb module from intrepid kernel, the connection works, but after some time the connection interrupts by itself. Its behavior is totally erratic. [Bug 246141] Re: no support for realtek rtl8187se
Mmmmhh, i don't have that folder, nor in the place you comment, and not in the place i knew either /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless ) The only file i saw is a rtl8180.ko, same date and time as the others in that folder. The file i was copying before after compiling is named rt8180.ko (not rtl8180 as I see). I've removed all those files i put there (easy, becasue all of them had different creation time). I don't know if i misunderstood something that you said (i'm spanish you know ;-) ) or maybe i'm doing something wrong, and the files i compile are anywhere (for instance, i didn't take a look if the makedrv script put it there for me). That why i would like to see if any of the users of those laptops with this wifi card or same chipset had it working properly. I'll test the final version from live cd once it's released. Right now, the wifi is working, but i noticed a big bug on it: you start using it, but after a period, the connection rate drops to 2M and hangs you from internet. If, after that, you commit something like: iwconfig wlan0 rate 48M, it starts to work just after you press enter. (i got some messages on dmesg too about this, i cannot reproduce it right now, because looks like it happens only on wpa/wpa2 connections, and now i'm using wep 64). -- no support for realtek rtl8187se https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246141 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 285093] Re: Dapper images fail to boot
Recently I had the grub error 2 when I wanted to move my system from an old hard-disk to a new one. It turned out recent mkfs will create the filesystem with inode size 256. This is only supported by grub since hardy (grub 0.97-29ubuntu19). ubuntu-vm-builder on hardy uses inode size 128 both for a hardy and dapper vm. vmbuilder on intrepid uses inode size 256 for a hardy vm. My guess is vmbuilder on intrepid will also use inode size 256, which is not supported by dapper's grub. I guess you need to pass -I 128 to mkfs.ext2 to make it work. Unfortunately I couldn't find the right place to do that, so I could not test this yet. -- Dapper images fail to boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285093 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 277709] Re: [Intrepid] Intel graphics card only runs with NoDRI option
Chris, I'm not seeing this crash on Gnome with compiz enabled. In fact, if I login to a gnome session (with compiz enabled, but that doesn't matter for this example), and then choose to switch users, and login another user to a KDE session, I don't see this crash. In a case like that, however, kwin's compositing is naturally disabled, and that's, I presume, the reason I can complete a flawless login. [Bug 234604] Re: It should be possible to print double-sided
Printers with hardware duplexing should print double-sided via the Duplex option. I have fixed several bugs in printer drivers, so that in Intrepid all supported printers with hardware duplex should print double-sided. For all printers without hardware duplex manual duplex was always supported via the possibility to print only the even or only the odd pages.
