[Bug 507264] Re: Choppy/Freezing H.264 Encoded Video Playback

Malicious software in Windows has been known to try getting past simple file type checks by spreading a zip file containing the actual executable. [Bug 508369] [NEW] Thermal control broken after resume
Public bug reported: Since 2.6.30 thermal control does not function after resume: the fan will not come on until the temperature reaches 80C, and when it does the fan starts spinning at the highest level and never backs down. This is tested using Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 alpha 2 and upstream kernel versions. Kernels 28 and 29 do work. I suspect the work on thermal in 2.6.30 may have introduced this regression, but that's a layman's guess. Steps: 1) Using a kernel version at or higher than .30, suspend the machine. 2) Resume. Expected: thermal control determines how fast the fan should spin. Observed: fan stays off until laptop gets very hot, then goes on to full blast. This machine has an Insyde bios. The DMI info is incorrect (due to some experimentation with BIOS flashing to see if that was a factor): the machine is really a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5881, PSLC8U-00D010. [Bug 75074] Re: eject cd doesn't work and just should
My eject-CD-button (hardware-button on the desktop) doesn't work. I have dual boot win7/ubuntu9.10. My drives are all eSATA BIOS is AMI v 02.67 (recent) Eject-button works fine under windows7. When I boot Ubuntu without a CD in the player I can't open the tray except by using a pin (not very elegant). When I succeed in inserting a disk in the CD/DVD-player it is mounted automatically and then I can eject via software (e.g. sudo eject). To work around this problem I always see to it that a disk is inserted while booting (or I always leave a disk in the player on exit so it is there when I boot). In this way I can always use the software eject to open the tray. FYI sometimes it works fine and sometimes it doesn't. Thought it might have been a reboot from Windows made it work, but then a subsequent cold boot worked too. -- Lucid: b43 fatal DMA error on Dell Mini 9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502433 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 508386] [NEW] Cannot log in message Xfce power manager, HAL daemon is not running
Public bug reported: Over the last few weeks I have update from xubuntu 8.04 LTS8.109.049.10 the step from 9.04 to 9.10 has introduced and error message at login which stops the keyboard working and I am unable to login at the console. I am able to ssh into the machine to get command line access but unable to fix this problem. There were no errors during upgrade and I accepted the maintainer’s version of files where appropriate to ensure a smooth upgrade or OS and apps. Re: [Bug 444674] Re: Mouse behaves strange on clicking in graphical environment
Same for me - single left click works correctly again but I have lost all features: pad scrolling, cannot adjust pointer speed/acceleration etc. But still an improvement overall :) On Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 11:19 AM, Thomas Runge thomas_ru...@gmx.net wrote: I cannot confirm the loss of middle click. It's still working for me by clicking both buttons, but touchpad-scroll is definitely gone. -- Mouse behaves strange on clicking in graphical environment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444674 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “xserver-xorg-input-mouse” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: xorg Since upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic, I'm experiencing a strange mouse behaviour. Mouse clicks are not always interpreted correctly. Most of the time, clicking once on application icons, links etc. seems to be interpreted as holding the left mouse button down to draw the icon link etc. to a new location. Same behaviour with window sliders. Clicking once, the mouse often seems to interprete one single click as click and hold. As a consequence, the slider is moved on moving the mouse. To release the mouse from click and hold a right mouse click seems to help. Often, it is also that trying to close an application highlights the x button on the title bar, but the click is not recognized. Sometimes (about 50% of the time), the mouse seems to be working normally. However, working with this malfunction is very annoying. This behaviour is related to the trackpoint, only! Mousepad as well as external mouse are behaving as expected.
