[Bug 610930] [NEW] Nautilus crashes when trying to form preview of malformed SVG image.
Public bug reported: Symptoms: Nautilus crashes when trying to form preview of malformed SVG image e.g. when opening the containing folder. If the image is placed on the Desktop, Nautilus will go into crash-restart loop. Culprit: Malformed SVG file that has style attribute containing zero length property value. Few examples below: First perfectly OK svg file. - example.svg - WORKING >8 (file cutline) >8 Removed the "red" to make zero length fill-value. Will crash nautilus. - example.svg - NONWORKING ->8 >8 Added whitespace to make fill-value non zero length. This works again, although the circle will be completely black. - example.svg - WORKING >8 >8 Added standard delimiter right after the :. Fill-value is again zero- length and causes Nautilus to crash. - example.svg - NONWORKING ->8 >8 So it is pretty clear that style attribute containing zero length property value will cause troubles. Hopefully this will help to find and fix the bug. [Bug 575410] Re: clock-applet freezes when clicking on time
Hi there. I prevented You to receive some other messages from me: from July 13 till now I experienced days when the but appeared and days when the bug vanished. Today I tried a workaround read from bug #439448 - comment #205 - I added a 3 seconds delay at gnome-panel startup. Then I tried to reboot my sytem MANY TIMES and now I can say that the clock applet works correctly at startup. This is not a "bug fix" but a simply workaround. [Bug 610932] [NEW] No sound on Dell Studio XPS 16
Public bug reported: I recently re-installed Lucid on my Studio XPS 16, and I've been unable to get sound working. When I first got this laptop (shortly after Lucid's release), I was able to fix this problem by running 'alsamixer' and turning up the volume. But now, everything in 'alsamixer' appears to be set correctly. I've tried this tip (http://www.jasintha.org/2010/04/dell-studio-xps-16 -no-sound-in-ubuntu.html) with no success (add 'options snd-hda-intel model = dell-m6' to the end of '/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf'). In Windows 7, my headphones are working, but not my speakers. So it's possible that speaker volume is working fine in Ubuntu, but that there's something wrong with the hardware. There's nothing wrong with the headphone hardware, though. Let me know if there's any more information I can provide, and I will be happy to provide it. I see a similar issue in Lucid, up to date as of yesterday's updates. In syslog I see this at the time of the crash. I included the pulseaudio ratelimit message just before, in case it is relevant. [Bug 608146] Re: Multiple packages provide phpapi-20090626; package must select one
phpapi-20090626 is provided by 4 packages: libapache2-mod-php5filter, php5-cli, php5-cgi, libapache2-mod-php5 Arbitrarily choosing the first does not seem very helpful here (in a cross-building context). I'm not sure if this dep is genuinely required for cross-building, but it seems senisble to choose php5-cli as the most appropriate way of running anything that needs it. This looks like an instance of a set of cases where there is a choice of fulfillers of a virtual dep, and 'best' answer should be selected for cross-building. [Bug 26058] Re: after boot into Windows XP, grub menu is not displayed and computer reboot
Please close the bug. I think that this same bug was already closed in Debian but I cannot find the bug itself. Whatever is working MBR is not GNU/Linux or GRUB, it is a program, usually an antivirus which it is found on Windows. The user should be able, should know how to use this software so that it recognises the new mbr (and next sectors) as a valid one and saves it as the default one so that it does not get overwritten. So... as long as this is not a grub error, but the user not knowing how to use his own software the bug should be closed. Now the question is... Should Ubuntu installation manual take care of these boot-sector-aware programs/antispyware/antivirus and document the steps that an user should do before and after installing Ubuntu regarding the conflictive software? No, just that bugs should not in general be assigned to MOTU. They should be assigned to a specific person who is actively working on the bug (if any). As you can see, the bug is still Confirmed. I have applied the patch for version 2-9 from Maverick onto the original source package. Building the package was successful and resulted in a working application. Solution: Download tagua_1.0~alpha2-9, both the .diff.gz and the .dsc files from the Maverick page. Apply to tagua_1.0~alpha2.orig.tar.gz, dpkg-buildpackage, install and it should work fine. [Bug 604874] Re: firefox fails to build from source with Linaro toolchain
The problem is that in cp/decl.c:duplicate_decls, when merging two decls for one variable, the code uses a memcpy to copy all fields in tree_decl_common *except* those in tree_common (which are handled manually). Since the patch moves the user_align and packed_flag bits from tree_decl_common into tree_base (which is part of tree_common), these bits -which used to be copied automatically by the mempy- are now no longer handled automatically and should have been handled manually. No such code was added however. -- firefox fails to build from source with Linaro toolchain https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604874 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker.
