[Bug 633552] Re: In systray, battery state stay as estimating...
I tried matching the heuristics up with this properly, there are conditions where there's no time remaining and only a percentage, gnome power manager is supposed to take data of the percentage over time and estimate the time remaining, so in theory the time remaining would eventually be updated, hence why it says estimating. The problem seems to be that some laptops don't make the estimation easy somewhere deeper inside of the code. I'll try and improve the situation somehow -- In systray, battery state stay as estimating... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 188039] Re: [needs-packaging] OpenProj
Any news here? I started my search here: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/8757 and as reported on brainstorm, this kind of request are bug with needs-packaging tag, so after a while I've found this bug report. Just a few considerations: * It's a good program that give to users a functional and stable alternative and replacement to analogous proprietary software used on other OS (see bug #1). * The license of OpenProj is CPAL 1.0 (http://www.opensource.org/licenses/cpal_1.0) a license approved by the OSI. * On the OpenProj site (http://openproj.org/openproj) there is a clear indication of their support for GNU/Linux OS and they have also a DEB package. * Furthermore the main screenshot is of OpenProj running under Ubuntu and, as cited above in this bug report, there is also a quote of Mark Shuttleworth. So it's strange that this isn't yet in Ubuntu repository. bye -- [needs-packaging] OpenProj https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188039 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

...hm cross-posting via email may or may not work. Manually adding and hoping LP does not think otherwise later... This is updating a set of bugs, so things said may or may not be exactly matching the bug report itself. There is a set of bug reports which, reading feedback from reporters, do not seem to be fixed by the patches which were thought to fix them. All of these patches are part of some upstream stable release, so if a real fix is found, it should be submitted there as well. Quickly reading over the reports they all seem to be positional quirk fixes in ALSA. In one of the reports David had a quick look and had the suspicion that the code path of activating the fix may not be hit at all. So while not fixing the bug all patches are not causing things to regress. [Bug 646694] [NEW] autofs does not stop when the system is halted
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: autofs Ubuntu version: Description:Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release:10.04 Package version: Architecture: amd64 Source: autofs5 Version: 5.0.4-3.1ubuntu5 Depends: autofs5 When the system halts, a signal is delivered to all the processes but automount does not receive it. The sendsigs init script will build a list of processes to be omitted when sending a signal. The omitted processes are the one not killed by the upstart jobs and the ones defined in the /lib/init/rw/sendsigs.omit.d/, /var/run/sendsigs.omit. automount is not killed by upstart because the 'stop' action is not defined in /etc/init/autofs.conf, then it will belongs to the omitted processes list and therefore won't be killed. In the normal use case, this is not visible because the shutdown will happens normally. In the container context (lxc.sourceforge.net), it appears there are some remaining processes while the system is halted. IMO, this is not the right behavior, the automount should receive a SIGTERM at shutdown time, this signal is catched and the daemon will do a proper shutdown. I was wondering if the autofs.conf script shouldn't have: stop on runlevel [!2345] Then the upstart job will deliver the sigterm signal to the process, and the automount will do its shutdown job normally. It is cleaner for the system, and make it works for the container. ** Affects: autofs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- autofs does not stop when the system is halted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/646694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
