So the default file is effectively sourced but rsyslogd does not listen on UDP 514 even when RSYSLOGD_OPTIONS="-c2 -r". [Bug 789123] Re: Eclipse crashes/quits without any error messages
So the problem is apparently caused by eclipse's libswt-pi-gtk-3659.so having trouble while calling a function: Java_org_eclipse_swt_internal_gtk_OS_GTK_1ACCEL_1LABEL_1GET_1ACCEL_1STRING is defined in libswt-pi-gtk.so. The actual Java method that triggers the error is this: org.eclipse.swt.widgets.MenuItem.setText(Ljava/lang/String;)V+205 it would be good to see which arguments the method is using while producing the crash. [Bug 795272] Re: EDID won't be read resulting in black screen at boot
** Summary changed: - EDID won't be read resulting in black screen at boot + Blank screen instead of GRUB menu ** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg - After updating my fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04, it stopped booting, showing only a black screen, booting from a LiveCD worked just fine. - Ubuntu would start in recovery mode, with low graphics, and after editing boot options to not include "quiet splash", the normal boot option booted into Ubuntu classic (no effects) (I'm bypassing GDM and not using Unity). However the highest possible resolution is 1024x786, whereas it should be 1080p. Everything else (Sound, Video (flash), etc) is working fine. - Using read-edid it seems to me, that EDID won't be read correctly, this worked fine before the updates and using the LiveCD. - I will attach a copy of the Xorg.0.log from the LiveCD boot. + After updating my fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04, it stopped booting, showing only a black screen, booting from a LiveCD worked just fine. I set GRUB to show the menu, which it did, initially. + Ubuntu would start in recovery mode, with low graphics, and after editing boot options to not include "quiet splash", the normal boot option booted into Ubuntu classic (no effects) (I'm bypassing GDM and not using Unity). + After a couple reboots, GRUB suddenly no longer shows a menu but a blank screen (my monitor says "Invalid Input"), when I hit enter it will boot into Ubuntu as it's suppossed to. I'm using the radeon driver on an old ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (R350). The update involved xorg 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1.1. [Bug 659738] Re: Duplicate welcome message in motd (caused by postinst script creating motd.tail file)
I installed initscripts 2.87dsf-4ubuntu17.4 out of lucid-proposed onto two different Lucid VMs. On the first there was no /etc/motd.tail file, and the installation of v17.4 did not create one. [Bug 795273] Re: wlan0 issues with connection on battery
Just to add more there no network issue. It looks like the responses on battery for network are very slow. Attaching tcpdum output with no AC power connected. I have a tcpdump gathered during the same download with AC power connected which in the same time gathered over 3000 packets. No idea what is going on here. ** Attachment added: "tcpdump with no AC power connected only battery." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/795273/+attachment/2163034/+files/wlan0_no_AC -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795273 Title: wlan0 issues with connection on battery To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/795273/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 791213] Re: unity-2d-places crashed with SIGSEGV in QMetaObject::metacall()
Marking Invalid in libqt-declarative in Arch Linux, since Andrea Scarpino has deleted the comment on the upstream Qt bug tracker that had confirmed it for Arch Linux (and searching https://bugs.archlinux.org doesn't reveal a report separately confirming it). ** Changed in: libqt-declarative (Arch Linux) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/791213 Title: unity-2d-places crashed with SIGSEGV in QMetaObject::metacall() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qt/+bug/791213/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 795309] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall()
The stack trace here is very bad, but "#1 0x00c5a7b9 in ?? () from /lib /ld-linux.so.2" is different from the traces in bug 740878 (where #1 is in /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6) and bug 762318 (where the specific library is unknown), so I'll keep this as a separate bug for now. Perhaps "Apport retracing service" will be able to do something with it...or perhaps it will automatically mark this bug Invalid. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795309 Title: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/795309/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
