[Bug 716311] Re: flash not installed
I have the same problem and it still exists. It can be solved by purging the flashplugin-* directories and reinstalling flash by either using the additional packages available dialogue when opening reqonk, or using apt-get. Running updated Kubuntu 11.04_64 KDE 4.6.3. Would be nice to get this problem solved. Makes updating your system using KPackageKit for newbies VERY annoying. [Bug 777493] Re: nvidia drivers activated but not in use on natty 11.04
hi together, I would be pleased, if this bug could be fixed soon, because I discover, that my Notebook (modell is CR500-series from MSI) often gets hot and I have to switch off for not risking my graphicscard. So this opensource- driver is no solution for the future. Plese reput the package nvidia- current-modaliases into the distro and upgrade it to the version of nvidia-current. This püroprietory driver is better for our graphiccards!! And this package nvidia-current-modaliases is a direct dependency of nvidia-current. This is the only way, to get this nvidia-driver back to working. I hope, that the developers look into this and understand this...Please understand, that this is the only help for not get hundreds of graphiccards melting because of overheating Greetings Linuxexperte -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777493 Title: nvidia drivers activated but not in use on natty 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-173/+bug/777493/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 794963] [NEW] madam allows growing an array beyond metadata size limitations
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mdadm It is possible to command mdadm to grow an array such that the array space on a component partition exceeds the maximum size writeable in metadata 0.90 format, which is just over 2TB (4 bytes representing sector size). When told to do this, mdadm appears to do it without error and writes a bogus sector count into the 4 byte container in the super-blocks. Now the system operates with the over-enlarged array without apparent issue but only until the next reboot when the system is told the array size based on the superblock value. User data becomes inaccessible/LVMs don't mount with seemingly no way to recover the inaccessible data. Obviously, mdadm should refuse to grow the array size beyond the size restriction of its own metadata. [Bug 794771] Re: metacity doesn't start, dies with metacity:ERROR:ui/ui.c:754:meta_ui_get_default_window_icon: assertion failed: (default_icon)
I wonder if this might be related to bug 438274? Especially to the comment which Ross Alexander wrote on 2010-12-20: The reason for this is the gnome-settings-daemon is not working so GTK does not pick up the correct icon theme so it defaults back to hicolor, which does not have icons for window or gtk-missing-icon. These icons exist in the gnome-icon-theme package and in GConf this is the default, and is also in Clearlooks, which is the default for the overall theme. I currently don't have my laptop available to verify, but I dimly remember seeing some warning(s) or error(s) from the gnome-settings- daemon that I didn't follow up on yet. I'll check that later tonight. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/794771 Title: metacity doesn't start, dies with metacity:ERROR:ui/ui.c:754:meta_ui_get_default_window_icon: assertion failed: (default_icon) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/794771/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 794520] Re: File publish dialog should be Gtk+ MessageBox, not notification bubble
Hello Dmitry! First of all, thanks for helping making Ubuntu One better. When we designed the notification feature, we decided we will not raise any popup/dialog to the end user unless is strictly necessary (eg the sync can not go on due to lack of space in the cloud). So, I'll close this bug as Won't Fix. If you think I didn't understand your report correctly, please let me know! [Bug 715257] Re: multi-notification plugin indicator support disabled and broken
It's not necessary anymore in this case, but for future reference: If it's not a distribution-issue but an upstream change in the library that causes these kinds of problems (as in this case with the .pc file rename), it would be nice to notify upstream of the library user (i.e. Claws Mail) instead of or in addition to fixing it in the distribution. This affects every consumer, not just Ubuntu. On a related note, it would be nice if libindicate would provide Release Notes when doing backwards-incompatible changes. Not being a user of indicators myself, all I can do now is either review all changes in the 0.5 branch to see if I can safely support the new version (that's not gonna happen), or just support it and wait for bug reports in case it turns out to be incompatible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/715257 Title: multi-notification plugin indicator support disabled and broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/claws-mail/+bug/715257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is annoying because its contents is as follows: $ cat /etc/motd.tail Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Welcome to Ubuntu! * Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/ This is a duplicate of information printed by the scripts in /etc /update-motd.d/, so some info is printed twice when I log in: Linux eventbookingonline 2.6.32.16-linode28 #1 SMP [...snip...] Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Welcome to Ubuntu! * Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/ Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Welcome to Ubuntu! * Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/ Last login: [...snip...] Surely this is wrong: as I understand it, /etc/motd.tail is supposed to be for static content added by the local system-administrator and should not be touched by scripts. [Bug 794992] [NEW] System Freeze and Resolution Problem when Opening Game in Full Screen (Natty)
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, both Ubuntu (Unity) and Ubuntu Classic (GNOME) session. Linux Kernel: 2.6.38-8 Opening game in full screen sometimes makes the system freeze (in other words, it is sometimes successfully opened and playable). The music of the game still runs, but the screen hangs. I am still able to exit the game through Esc key or other keyboard action depending on the game, but after the game exits and the screen looks normal, the system is still unusable. I can move the cursor, but clicking anything doesn't have any effects. It also happens when switching from windowed to full screen mode. Another problem is that the full screen games open in an unmatched ratio to my screen resolution (1280x800), leaving the black area on the left and right sides. Game tested: - Frozen Bubble - Powermanga - Njam Specs: - Intel Celeron CPU 550 @ 2.00GHz - 1GB of RAM - Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller Updated the graphic drivers from ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa and the kernel to 2.6.39 from ppa:kernel-ppa/ppa but it still happens. I tested some older kernels from Lucid and Maverick repository: 2.6.32-20 (Lucid) 2.6.32-22 (Lucid) 2.6.35-25 (Lucid) 2.6.35-28 (Maverick) 2.6.32-20 and 2.6.32-22 works well as I experienced in Lucid, but it brings the same problem that I experienced in Lucid: opening a full screen game while playing music makes the music lags for a moment. I don't face this music lag problem with Natty's kernel, but having the system freezes for the game is of course a more serious problem.
