[Bug 868948] Re: panel applets adopt menubar colours
I think I've been able to ascertain that the problem is not with the light-themes package (though they too do have the issues I referred to when used with Gnome Classic). Debian 6 and Ubuntu 10.04 don't have the issue I describe, I've tested this twice with a couple of different themes which don't display right in Ubuntu 11.04, and in Debian and 10.04 all is fine. I wouldn't want the developers to be barking up the wrong tree, especially as it's not a priority bug. It does seem very odd and random that the menubar's colour scheme of all things is what these panel applets adopt. [Bug 870540] [NEW] Installation failed to install shotwell and then stoped and adviced me to fill bug report without further explainations about what's happened
Public bug reported: That's ubuntu oneric (development branch) 11.10 installation from 2Gb usb thumb drive ~2Gb fat32 partition on it. Installation media was made by unetbootin on windows That is supposed to be installation on a system with UEFI and GPT partition table. I've previously created GPT using gdisk and formated: - EFI Boot (256 mb) as fat32 - Microsoft Reserved Partition (as MS describes it) - empty small patrition (just in case) - Linux swap (4Gb) which I selected for swap in installer - 60Gb partition not for linux - root partition for Gentoo (which I know better) - ubuntu root patrition (which I selected in installer as / and asked to format it as reiserfs and where previous unsuccessfull installation of beta-2 root partition was). Installation said that it can't install shotoweel (or something like this) and after a while it said that there's a bug somwhere :) and opened this browser window for me. I'm sorry but I can't attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman becouse there's no gui controlls for starting Terminal or Gedit or anything, so I'll add them (/var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/installer/partman) later. Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. [Bug 818177] Re: boot failures because 'udevadm exit' times out while udevd waits for an already-dead thread
This bug was fixed in the package udev - 173-0ubuntu4 --- udev (173-0ubuntu4) oneiric; urgency=low * Set a timeout of 61 seconds when calling udevadm control --exit, to ensure that udevd always reaches its *own* timeout first. If udevadm times out before udevd, it exits non-zero, breaking the move of the /dev mount; and if we ignore the udevadm failure then udevd might still be running, which is the original issue that the patch for bug #624469 was trying to address. Raising the timeout doesn't make the boot any slower, it just makes sure we let udevd count the 60 seconds instead of udevadm. LP: #818177. * debian/patches/race-condition-on-exit: Process events before signals in the worker thread, so we don't sit around waiting 60 seconds for an already-dead process. -- Steve Langasek steve.langa...@ubuntu.com Sat, 08 Oct 2011 00:48:54 -0700 ** Changed in: udev (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818177 Title: boot failures because 'udevadm exit' times out while udevd waits for an already-dead thread To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/818177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
v0.9 seems to work well on my Dell E6410 now that I'm running Natty. (Just upgraded from Maverick--and had to fight with a broken GRUB due to the upgrade! There's a reason I'm 6 months out of date.) Two-finger scrolling works, horizontal and vertical edge scrolling work, and it seems to disable the touchpad when typing. I cannot seem to affect the pointer speed with the Sensitivity adjustment on the General tab of Mouse preferences, but the Acceleration slider definitely has an effect. No problems with jitter. $ uname -srvmo Linux 2.6.38-11-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 12 21:17:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ sudo lshw -short -sanitize H/W path Device Class Description == system Latitude E6410 () /0 bus 0K42JR /0/0 memory 64KiB BIOS /0/4 processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU M 620 @ 2.67GHz /0/4/5 memory 32KiB L1 cache /0/4/6 memory 512KiB L2 cache /0/4/7 memory 4MiB L3 cache /0/19 memory 8GiB System Memory /0/19/0memory 4GiB SODIMM DDR3 Synchronous 1067 MHz (0.9 ns) /0/19/1memory 4GiB SODIMM DDR3 Synchronous 1067 MHz (0.9 ns) /0/100 bridge Core Processor DRAM Controller /0/100/1 bridge Core Processor PCI Express x16 Root Port /0/100/1/0 display GT218 [NVS 3100M] /0/100/1/0.1 multimedia High Definition Audio Controller /0/100/19 eth0network 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection /0/100/1a bus 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller /0/100/1b multimedia 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio /0/100/1c bridge 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port 1 /0/100/1c.1bridge 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port 2 /0/100/1c.1/0 wlan0 network Centrino Advanced-N 6200 /0/100/1c.2bridge 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port 3 /0/100/1c.2/0 generic MMC/SD Host Controller /0/100/1c.2/0.4bus FireWire Host Controller /0/100/1c.3bridge 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port 4 /0/100/1d bus 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller /0/100/1e bridge 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge /0/100/1f bridge Mobile 5 Series Chipset LPC Interface Controller /0/100/1f.2scsi0 storage Mobile 82801 SATA RAID Controller /0/100/1f.2/0 /dev/sdadisk160GB INTEL SSDSA2M160 /0/100/1f.2/0/1/dev/sda1 volume 29GiB EXT4 volume /0/100/1f.2/0/3/dev/sda3 volume 119GiB Extended partition /0/100/1f.2/0/3/5 /dev/sda5 volume 104GiB Linux filesystem partition /0/100/1f.2/0/3/6 /dev/sda6 volume 14GiB Linux swap / Solaris partition /0/100/1f.2/1 /dev/cdrom diskDVD+-RW TS-U633F /0/100/1f.3bus 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset SMBus Controller /0/100/1f.6generic 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Thermal Subsystem /0/101 bridge Core Processor QuickPath Architecture Generic Non-core Registers /0/102 bridge Core Processor QuickPath Architecture System Address Decoder /0/103 bridge Core Processor QPI Link 0 /0/104 bridge Core Processor QPI Physical 0 /0/105 bridge Core Processor Reserved /0/106 bridge Core Processor Reserved /1 power DELL HJ59002 /2 power To Be Filled By O.E.M. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625 Title: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/550625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed.
