[Bug 890441] Re: nautilus memory leak
Unity is not installed nor compiz (totaly purged) Looking at .gtk-bookmarks show an issue with dir/subdir names if thet contain "é": translated with % + uppercase letters. Had Vidéos & Téléchargement dirs , both was malformed into .gtk-bookmarks. Now i've replaced "é" by "e" to avoid this issue. But need to fix it anyway; i'm using fr_FR-UTF8 as page code. This temporary workaround dont remove the gtk-crital errors into .xsession-errors, get the same but far less numerous. Nautilus service at early gnome-classic session (without effect) is using ~10 Mib; if the filebrowser is opened then the ram used grows to 14; opening firefox browser then nautilus use around 20 Mib. I've taken time to observe how that going on: ram crunching seems have stopped (good news) and the early errors logged to xsession-errors dont have new error added. That said, since i've renamed the faulty dirs names, i get this new error: ** CRITICAL **: enchant_dict_check: assertion `g_utf8_validate(word, len, NULL)' failed About your request above "gtk3 dbg package", i've looked at synaptic archive list about "gtk3" and dont find -dbg package except for canberra; which one(s) do you need ? AS a result this nautilus issue seems to be a "language" issue as special letters as "é" are not understood by the system directories. [Bug 878934] Re: Menu selection is wrong in Java apps
I have this same bug and would like to provide this additional information to track down the problem: -) It did not happen with Ubuntu 11.04 Natty -) It DOES happen with Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric, even with the same jvm (oracle 1.6) -) It happens only if the Frame starts up in maximized mode, but not if the frame starts in non-maximized mode. -) If you toggle maximized state of the frame off, the offset problem will disappear. Toggling it back on will not make it appear again. -) To me it seems that the vertical offset is exactly the height of the global menu / window title bar. -) I currently have my Unity Launcher set to "hide never". This causes popup elements of a java application to be horizontally misplaced: They are shifted to the left by width(launcher) pixels. This horizontal misplacement also is fixed as soon as the maximized state of the frame is changed for the first time. So, there seems to be some window initialization issue here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878934 Title: Menu selection is wrong in Java apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/878934/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: When installing over an existing installation (necessary if an update crashes half-way through :( ) and /etc/apt/apt.conf has the Default- Release set (eg, to "natty"), then the installer will quietly hang at "Saving installed packages". I discovered what the problem was by: 1. booting from the install CD 2. selecting "Try Ubuntu" (rather than "Install Ubuntu") 3. opening a terminal 4. starting the installer with debug logging on; ie., ubiquity -d 5. this popped up a dialog indicating a system problem 6. looked at the intended report which complained that APT:Default-Release = "natty" was not in the repository I manually fixed it by temporarily mounting the root volume and deleting the ./etc/apt/apt.conf file. Hi! Thanks for your bug report and sorry for the delayed response. As you may be aware, during each cycle a lot of work goes into software-center. However, over time we build up a long list of bugs which are most likely no longer present in recent versions of software-center. In an attempt to clean up the bug list for software-center I am expiring this bug because it meets one or more of the following criteria: - it would seem quite likely that this bug is no longer present in recent versions of software-center, - the bug report does not contain sufficient information for us to reproduce and/or fix the bug, - the issue is most likely in an external piece of code and has most likely been fixed since the bug was reported. It sounds like the apparmor svirt driver should check whether a storage backing file is a symbolic link, and, if so, add the link target to the list of allowed devices? ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/912007 Title: Apparmor profile denies access to /dev/dm-* for guests using LVM partitions storage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/912007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you experience any problems in recent development versions of software-center, please do continue to report new bugs. [Bug 903236] Re: Touchpad incorrectly detected as PS/2 mouse on Dell Inspiron 15R N5110
Similar issue for me. Multi touch doesn't work anymore, event scrolling on touchpad as well. ** Description changed: This is likely a kernel problem, but I couldn't figure out which package to file it against if it is. I know others have had this bug, but I haven't seen it reported from this hardware. I'm on a Dell Inspiron 15R (N5110) laptop. It says to specify the manufacturer of the touchpad, but I can't find it. It said "Synaptics touchpad" in a review, and from my googlings I've seen Alps mentioned. In any case, it's not detected as a touchpad, but as a PS/2 mouse, and thus two finger scrolling and other multitouch features don't work. There's no touchpad tab in System > Administration > Mouse. I've attached the output of these commands: $ cat /proc/bus/input/devices - $ xinput --list + $ xinput --list $ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log I'm using Ubuntu 11.10. [Bug 912320]
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/912320/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 890441] Re: nautilus memory leak
Stacktrace about nautilus again? Additional comments since previous post: - running a new app ( with wine) add the same errors at opening time, but no more then. - have looked at an other system with Oneiric i386: it has the same errors logged and again into .gtk-boomarks "Vidéos" is translated "Vid%C3%A9os". So Oneiric is concerned too for the same reasons. Renaning to "Video" and removing .gtk-bookmarks solve the issue. [Bug 405294] Re: a2dp skips terribly
I also have the same problem. It works perfectly under Windows 7, and well with Ubuntu 10.04. But in Ubuntu 11.10 bluetooth audio skips a lot. It's not that noticeably affected by other bluetooth devices or WiFi. It is affected (obviously) by the distance, anything more than about 1 metre and it skips a lot, with Windows it's still playing perfectly at 10 metres. I've tried all the suggestions here and anywhere else I can find, and nothing fixes it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405294 Title: a2dp skips terribly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/405294/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 912007] Re: Apparmor profile denies access to /dev/dm-* for guests using LVM partitions storage
For the record I've reproduced this. Interestingly, /dev/dm-2 *is* in the allowed list.
