[Bug 1061169] Re: Installation prompt needs internationalization support
** Description changed: Right now whenever the user navigates to a site with webapp support, the browser prompts them with a message describing that there is an integration script available and whether they want to install it or not. This message is in English only, which breaks consistency on desktops (and browsers) localized in other languages, as well as making it difficult for those not fluent in English to understand what they are actually being asked. The messages need to be marked for translation, extracted and exposed in Launchpad Translations, and then translations either loaded at runtime or embedded in the script at build time (or a mixture of the two, whatever the best approach is). + + This affects the components/unity_webapps.js script -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061169 Title: Installation prompt needs internationalization support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/1061169/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
Why are you talking about notifications and password prompts, the computer should shut down (by default) of course! It could prompt and say "X is logged in, are you really sure you want to shut down?" but nothing more. If an admin wants to disable it there should be a way to do that instead. Let's say I'm logged in but I'm not at home and my wife wants to shut down the computer. Of course she should be allowed to! Therefore I think setting org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop- multiple-users to allow_active=yes is a great and correct solution. What's missing there is a local override solution so and admin of a multi-seat server could turn it off for example without having it overwritten everytime policykit updates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861171 Title: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/861171/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 928434] Re: update-manager doesn't remember its position on screen
I see this all the time...perhaps every time update manager is opened. I have additional behavior such as the window "size" is maximized, but it is not positioned properly. Part of the window appears on my secondary monitor, or off-screen, as the case may be. Perhaps this is the same effect as mentioned in previous comments. Another perhaps related issue is that occasionally the update manager window is all white, no widgets or data shown. When I *actually* maximize the window, it is properly refreshed and everything appears properly. Seems all related, but I guess we'll see. I am running 12.04 (64-bit), which was upgraded from 11.10 way back when. I don't believe I saw this behavior back on 11.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928434 Title: update-manager doesn't remember its position on screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/928434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1061195] [NEW] Can't create EWS or MAPI account
Public bug reported: Evolution appears unable to create an EW or MAPI account. All the steps proceed normally, including fetching the URL (for EWS) or authenticating (for MAPI). However, at the conclusion of account creation process, no actual account appears in the list. I've tried starting Evolution from the command line using various DEBUG_ variables and there are no EWS- or MAPI-specific errors. So I'm not exactly sure what to do next. [Bug 999977] Re: [rt73usb] WPA2 Authentication Requested Multiple Times
This bug is so annoying! I am running a new dell XPS17, my wife is on a Dell Inspiron something...not new. Often times when we open her computer lid there are dozens of Wireless Network Authorization dialogs piled up on top of each other. To clear them all at one, I just right click on the little wifi icon and click quit, which closes all instances of the dialog. The wireless is still connected. On my XPS, I often see this while I am connected to my LAN at work. Even though I have a fine connection to the internet, these dialogs pop up every few minutes, albeit intermittently. [Bug 1060200] Re: Detect in the postinst that resolvconf is installed but /etc/resolv.conf is not a symlink to ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf
Hi Mathieu, The idea is to do it when the new network-manager installed which listens at 127.01.1 instead of at 127.0.0.1. The old NM worked with an empty or absent /etc/resolv.conf; the new one doesn't. Yes, it is resolvconf's job to do take care of /etc/resolv.conf, but the sudden termination of name service will only arise when NM is also being used. So it's convenient if network-manager maintainer scripts performs the check. It could also be implement in a resolvconf maintainer script. It doesn't really matter where it's implemented. We are extremely respectful of the nonstandard configuration where /etc/resolv.conf is not a symlink to ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf. The /sbin/resolvconf program never touches /etc/resolv.conf at all and the resolvconf package makes one and only one attempt to convert /etc/resolv.conf into a symlink, doing this only if an affirmative answer is given to a debconf question. This is all fine. But this respectfulness just expands the problem I am addressing here, the problem of there being a significant number of systems out there which --- unintentionally --- are missing /etc/resolv.conf, which currently have name service via nm-dnsmasq, but which won't have name service after upgrading to 12.10, resulting in some unhappy admins. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1060200 Title: Detect in the postinst that resolvconf is installed but /etc/resolv.conf is not a symlink to ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1060200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1048000] Re: Precise: Very slow boot / Unity 3d does not start on some USB drives
> I'm highly suspecting that the issue is simply the USB driver or the kernel. Since everything works fine in oneiric, you are probably right. There certainly is a problem in precise, with some USB drives. > Note that USB disks can easily range from 2MB/s to 40MB/s, so the brand does matter a lot. My drives were in the range of 13-23 MB/s. This allows people who are willing to download a non-supported equivalent release to continue installing new releases of Ubuntu on old hardare. There is no technical reason for locking people out of the future, it is soley a political one. This prevents the bottom feeders from receiving the benevolence of the work done to cater to the 1%. It also means Ubuntu is not longer for everyone. Re: [Bug 1058883] Re: start-on conditions in Upstart script prevent aiccu from restarting during resume from suspend
I'm not sure why the restart is there. Perhaps it's trying to guarantee the routing tables are correct. Or perhaps it's intended to start up the aiccu daemon if the computer is suspended on a network with native IPv6 support, then resumed on a network without native IPv6 support, where the aiccu daemon is needed. It also restarts aiccu if ping6 isn't found, not sure why. Just in case it wasn't clear, the sleep.d script is part of the default installation as well--I don't have a link, but it can be easily verified by downloading the aiccu source package and looking for the file `60aiccu` in the debian/ directory. [Bug 1060200] Re: Detect in the postinst that resolvconf is installed but /etc/resolv.conf is not a symlink to ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf
I still don't follow. There were no significant changes to how NM handles /etc/resolv.conf from the version in 12.04 to the version in 12.10; and certainly nothing that would cause things to be handled differently if /etc/resolv.conf is not a symlink or is absent. The IP address change has no impact to this -- if people decided to break their setup by making resolv.conf a standard file, by removing it or otherwise, we should also be respectful of *that* and ultimately not revert their changes (which may or may not have been done for a good reason). Can you further explain what you mean? Provide an example setup, or even a patch? However, there really *should not be* any such changes to the postinst or any NM maintainer scripts to touch /etc/resolv.conf; it's just not the right place to do these things. Instead, if we need to cover an extra case where NM is failing to do the right thing, that fix can go in src/dns-manager/nm-dns-manager.c or one of the other source files in that directory.
