[Bug 1171435] Re: [AV200 - Xonar STX, recording] Microphone is not working on frontpanel

2015-12-18 Thread David Henningsson

working.

Did you see my update in comment #30? It should be "Front Panel", not
"Front Mic". After editing, reboot and restart PulseAudio again. Is it
still not working?

[Bug 1460164] Re: upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
The neutron code does make some attempts to monitor the state of
openvswitch - a restart of the ovs database process should be detected
by the agent, and appropriate action taken.

Having the agent detect and respond to the status of openvswitch and the
flows its managing should be the right approach to dealing with this
situation; I believe that this part of the codebase has improved since
Icehouse, so we'll take a look, do some testing and see whether there
are some cherry-picks we can make for Icehouse to improve resilience.

[Bug 1527557] [NEW] On laptop with dual monitor the additional monitor scrolls down both diaplays when set above the built-in monitor

2015-12-18 Thread alexism
Public bug reported:

I'm running a 15.10 64 bits ubuntu
I have a nvidia GTX 965M graphic chipset with nvidia-358 drivers (had the same
issue with nvidia-352)

How to reproduce:
1. Plug in additional monitor
2. In system settings, configure the additional monitor so that it is above the
built-in monitor

Expected behaviour:
Two different desktop (?) should appear on each monitor and the mouse should
move from one to the other when reaching the limit of each display.

Observed behaviour:
When the mouse is in the built-in (bottom) display, both screen show the same
image / desktop.
When moving the mouse cursor beyond the limit of the built-in display, the
image on the second (top) monitor scrolls up until it shows the second desktop.
When moving the mouse cursor back to the built-in (bottom) display, the image
on the top monitor scrolls down until both monitors display the same image.

I have attached some photographs, since the bug is difficult to describe
properly with words

[Bug 1527560] [NEW] No way to edit existing bookmarks

2015-12-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Public bug reported:

The current UI (both narrow and wide modes) doesn’t allow editing
existing bookmarks. One can delete existing bookmarks, and in wide mode
one can drag a bookmark to another folder, but the URL/title of a
bookmark cannot be changed. We need a UI for that.

One concrete use case is lastpass bookmarklets (see bug #1506836 for
details): lastpass provides a bogus URL which needs to be edited (to
remove an 'android:lpfill?' token from the start) to create a valid
bookmark.

[Bug 1506836] Re: LastPass bookmarklet not supported in ubuntu-touch browser

2015-12-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
What you’re describing here is a bug in the TextField component used by
the browser for the address bar. I verified that the field actually
contains the entire URL, despite not allowing to scroll through it (if
you long press to show the context menu, then select all, then copy, and
paste it into another app, you will see the entire URL).

So a bookmark to that page with a bogus address can be added, however
the current UI for bookmarks doesn’t allow editing the URL of a
bookmark, so that bookmark cannot be "fixed". I filed bug #1527560 to
track this as a more generic issue.

[Bug 1460164] Re: upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
On a fresh icehouse install I see the following on a restart of ovs:

[Bug 1460164] Re: upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
Critically, the observation made in comment #8 does not always happen -
i.e. I don't reliable seen the openvswitch-agent process exiting
abnormally and then restarting all flows. I suspect this is a racey in
some way - so if you luck out with a CRITICAL failure on an ovs restart,
ovs gets re-configured on a full sync.

[Bug 1520500] Re: Feature: save or cache page

2015-12-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
For an offline page cache, see bug #1268055.

For saving pages to disk, in theory this should be made possible with
the work being done to enable downloads within the browser (see bug
#1354391). This will still require a way for the user to request saving
a page (maybe an entry in the drawer menu?). Adding an ubuntu-ux task to
get design to comment on this.

[Bug 1509989] Re: Filezilla : Site Manager crash (assertion failed) only with Ubuntu 15.10

2015-12-18 Thread jeremy
I'm not on Wily anymore due to KDE 5 bugs (I'm back on Kubuntu 14.04 until
those bugs are fixed).
So I can't test but I'm sure the others will and I wanted to thank you for the
fix.
Thanks.

[Bug 1520968] Re: jittering pictures on ebay uk when slipping

This one is yet another crazy UA string issue: I can reliably reproduce
the problem with a simple oxide WebView with our browser’s default UA

A UA override should do the trick.

[Bug 1525482] Re: configure-symlinks: Filen eller katalogen finns inte

2015-12-18 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu.

You have mysql-common 10.0.21+maria-1~vivid [origin: unknown] installed,
which isn't shipped by Ubuntu and is causing your problem.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than
configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us
to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu.

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1460164] Re: upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
I retested with Liberty, and saw pretty much the same behaviour; digging
into this a bit deeper, I think this is related to the l2-population
driver usage - with l2 pop disabled, a restart of ovs resulted in a
short network outage for the instances, but service was restored quickly
- with l2 pop enabled, a full agent restart was required to get things
humming again.

For what it is worth, I managed to catch a segfault on shutdown of
music-app (i.e. swiping vertically in the app spread) on the phone. I
couldn't get a usable apport crash dump, but managed to catch it in gdb.

This is with libdbus-cpp 4.3.0+15.04.20151126-0ubuntu1 and libmedia-hub-

[Bug 1526537] Re: blk_update_request: I/O error

2015-12-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Marcin, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.13 to 4.2
in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately
by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited analysis of
the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ?

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit
bisecting.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1460164] Re: restart of openvswitch-switch causes instance network down when l2population enabled

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
The fdb_add method checks to see if the agent already has a registered
ofport for each tunnel it requires - this is now stale, so results in
the tunnel setup being skipped - the tunnel ports are still present in
the ovsdb - however all of the flows are missing resulting in full loss
of instance connectivity.

** Also affects: neutron

[Bug 1527666] Re: lxc on Wily cannot dist-upgrade Xenial

2015-12-18 Thread Robie Basak
Correction. Rather than systemd being upgraded, I think there's
something that fires a trigger in it that sets off the failure.

[Bug 1527666] [NEW] lxc on Wily cannot dist-upgrade Xenial

2015-12-18 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

This affects 1.1.5-0ubuntu0.15.10.3 on Wily. I believe it also affects
1.1.5-0ubuntu0.15.04.3 on Vivid.

Downgrading to 1.1.4-0ubuntu1 fixes it, so it does not affect
1.1.4-0ubuntu1 on Wily.

My failure case is that I am running adt-run --apt-pocket=proposed -U
with adt-virt-lxc and a test needs to upgrade systemd in the container
which fails in the postinst. I think this comes down to lxc being unable
to dist-upgrade xenial-proposed.

I created the container with: sudo lxc-create -n xenial -t ubuntu-cloud
-- -r xenial -T http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/xenial/current/xenial-
server-cloudimg-amd64-root.tar.gz -F

Reproduce with: adt-run -U --apt-pocket=proposed libapache2-mod-perl2
--- adt-virt-lxc -es xenial

Expected: test pass (or fail for unrelated reason)

Actual: test fail due to:

Processing triggers for systemd (228-2ubuntu2) ...
Failed to execute operation: Failed to activate service
'org.freedesktop.systemd1': timed out
dpkg: error processing package systemd (--unpack):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for ufw (0.34-2) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 systemd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
blame: libapache2-mod-perl2
badpkg: failed to run apt-get to satisfy adt-satdep.deb dependencies
adt-run [15:57:15]: ERROR: erroneous package: failed to run apt-get to satisfy
adt-satdep.deb dependencies

I tried to reduce the failure case but I'm not sure how to manually
activate a trigger for systemd.

Workaround: downgrade using: sudo apt-get install lxc=1.1.4-0ubuntu1
lxcfs=0.10-0ubuntu2 liblxc1=1.1.4-0ubuntu1 python3-lxc=1.1.4-0ubuntu1

Presumably the failure case will stop working once systemd lands in the
xenial release pocket, but perhaps reconfiguring it would still
reproduce?

Confirmed since pitti has experienced this as well.

[Bug 1460164] Re: upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent

2015-12-18 Thread James Page
Confirmed that disabling l2-population has the same effect on restarts
of ovs on Icehouse as well.

** Summary changed:

- upgrade of openvswitch-switch can sometimes break
neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent
+ restart of openvswitch-switch causes instance network down when l2population
enabled

[Bug 1527645] [NEW] grub-mkconfig hangs (due to acting on closed handle?)

2015-12-18 Thread Daniel Convissor
Public bug reported:

Calling "grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" hangs. I came across
this when running "apt-get upgrade", during the kernel post install
step, where it hangs on this line in the log:

run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub
3.19.0-41-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.19.0-41-generic

I ran strace on calling grub-mkconfig. I'll attach the output, but
here's a summary of the output. To my untrained eye, it looks like
grub-mkconfig is calling pipe() and read() on a closed handle.

[Bug 1527663] [NEW] firefox 43 Accept-Language header does not follow preferences

2015-12-18 Thread romain
Public bug reported:

on a french firefox, possibly on all non english installs of firefox 43 on
Ubuntu 15.10,
the Accept-Language header is set to en_US regardless of the language
preferences.
It started with the upgrade to ff43, and the issue exists event when creating a
new profile.

How to Reproduce :
Create a new profile on a firefox in french, go to any website, Accept-Language
HTTP header does not contain "fr"
(I could reproduce the bug in a virtualized 15.10)

Workaround :
about:preferences#content > Languages: choose
Change order, click OK
Languages: choose (again) Change order back, click OK
Now the Accept-Language header is correctly set

[Bug 1519029] Re: Lenovo X240 in Dock, bad resolution on logon and no mouse pointer

2015-12-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Adam, thanks for the follow up.

Let this report focus on 1), and 2) can be pursued via separate report
targeted to lightdm.

Despite this, when you boot up with the computer in the docking station,
are there any crash files in /var/crash?

** Description changed:

Laptop works perfectly when not docked.

If I boot when in the dock, the logon screen is highly corrupted. I can
enter my username and password anyway and then it logs me in, I can see
the screen on the external display, and everything works EXCEPT my mouse
pointer is invisible! I can move the mouse around and if I get it in
the right place (for example, I can get to a corner) and click it works,
so the OS "knows" where the mouse pointer is but I just can't see it.

+ If I boot up and log in with the laptop undocked, and then place in the
+ dock, everything works perfectly.

- If I boot up and log in with the laptop undocked, and then place in the dock,
everything works perfectly.
+ The display corruption issue was resolved by swapping in an HDMI cable
+ for the VGA cable.

[Bug 1527666] [NEW] lxc on Wily cannot dist-upgrade Xenial

2015-12-18 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

This affects 1.1.5-0ubuntu0.15.10.3 on Wily. I believe it also affects
1.1.5-0ubuntu0.15.04.3 on Vivid.

Downgrading to 1.1.4-0ubuntu1 fixes it, so it does not affect
1.1.4-0ubuntu1 on Wily.

My failure case is that I am running adt-run --apt-pocket=proposed -U
with adt-virt-lxc and a test needs to upgrade systemd in the container
which fails in the postinst. I think this comes down to lxc being unable
to dist-upgrade xenial-proposed.

I created the container with: sudo lxc-create -n xenial -t ubuntu-cloud
-- -r xenial -T http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/xenial/current/xenial-
server-cloudimg-amd64-root.tar.gz -F

Reproduce with: adt-run -U --apt-pocket=proposed libapache2-mod-perl2
--- adt-virt-lxc -es xenial

Expected: test pass (or fail for unrelated reason)

Actual: test fail due to:

Processing triggers for systemd (228-2ubuntu2) ...
Failed to execute operation: Failed to activate service
'org.freedesktop.systemd1': timed out
dpkg: error processing package systemd (--unpack):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for ufw (0.34-2) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 systemd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
blame: libapache2-mod-perl2
badpkg: failed to run apt-get to satisfy adt-satdep.deb dependencies
adt-run [15:57:15]: ERROR: erroneous package: failed to run apt-get to satisfy
adt-satdep.deb dependencies

I tried to reduce the failure case but I'm not sure how to manually
activate a trigger for systemd.

Workaround: downgrade using: sudo apt-get install lxc=1.1.4-0ubuntu1
lxcfs=0.10-0ubuntu2 liblxc1=1.1.4-0ubuntu1 python3-lxc=1.1.4-0ubuntu1

Presumably the failure case will stop working once systemd lands in the
xenial release pocket, but perhaps reconfiguring it would still
reproduce?

Confirmed since pitti has experienced this as well.

** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Fix Released

** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu Wily)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Confirmed

Re: [Bug 1519522] Re: Xorg crashes

2015-12-18 Thread Radics Ottó
I don't know how to reproduce this issue. It might be related to the
nouveau driver, because after I enabled the proprietary driver from nVidia,
I haven't experience the issue.

It happened approximately once or twice a day.

[Bug 1527666] Re: lxc on Wily cannot dist-upgrade Xenial

2015-12-18 Thread Robie Basak
Correction. Rather than systemd being upgraded, I think there's
something that fires a trigger in it that sets off the failure.

[Bug 1525878] Re: Wacom serial pen stops working in kernel 4.2.0-19

2015-12-18 Thread Wolfgang Noichl
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

The pen (on a Fujitsu T5010) completely stopped working when using Kernel
4.2.0-19.
When booting 4.2.0-18, it works again, so I suspect it's somehow kernel
related.

When booting 4.2.0-19, xsetwacom --list devices is completely empty.
When booting 4.2.0-18, see output below.

  xsetwacom --list devices
Serial Wacom Tablet FUJ02e5 stylusid: 17 type: STYLUS
Serial Wacom Tablet FUJ02e5 eraserid: 18 type: ERASER

  dmesg | grep -i wacom
[9.109484] input: Wacom Serial Penabled 1FG Touchscreen as
/devices/pnp0/00:06/tty/ttyS4/serio5/input/input17

Please let me know whether I can provide further information.
