[Bug 1503551] Re: Java segfaulted in i965 driver - lots of deleted mmapped files
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu wily ** Description changed: Java encountered a segfault in the i965 driver while running Minecraft. A perusal of the dump report suggests that the issue is not due to Minecraft but due to heavy use of the graphics exacerbating a memory mapping leak in the driver - it seems that the mappings for /dev/drm/card0 and /dri objects are not properly freed. Note that I was running Optifine with Multi-Core loading, which causes multi-threaded use of the graphics driver. Important parts of the hs_err file are pasted below. However, I cut out a *lot* of the /drm mm object and /dev/dri/card0 mappings. themusicgod1, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=3375929=8=4059 an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.23). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. [Bug 1539009] Re: Mouse cursor moves way too slow in Unity 8 with a 1000Hz mouse
Interestingly, bug 1517133 shows this issue existed before the switch to libinput. So the bug has remained consistent with both android-input and libinput backends in Mir. And the switch to libinput made no visible difference. I have a theory that the relative motion data Unity8 is receiving might be incomplete. Because it's a nested server and subject to input resampling, meaning it will only get input events at 59Hz. It's possible we don't have sufficient logic to merge the relative motion data accurately before it's delivered to Unity8 at the lower rate. ** Summary changed: - Mouse cursor moves way too slow in Unity 8 with a 1000Hz mouse + Mouse cursor is unusably slow in Unity 8 with a 1000Hz mouse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1539009 Title: Mouse cursor is unusably slow in Unity 8 with a 1000Hz mouse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qtmir/+bug/1539009/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1531404] Re: nonexistent partition in /dev, & lsblk/disk util misbehaving with randomized disks
Phillip, the Atari Partition Table spec is located here: http://drac030.krap.pl/APT_spec.pdf You will notice that the header entry (bottom of p.2 to top of p.3) has a signature at offset 1 ("APT"). It also has a sanity check at offset 5. In addition, each partition entry points to both the previous and next entry. There are clearly sufficient tests here to see if there is really an Atari Partition Table present or not. I have filled six 2T disks, each with different random data, and I'm always getting the same result. There is no way this is happening randomly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531404 Title: nonexistent partition in /dev, & lsblk/disk util misbehaving with randomized disks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/1531404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1536810] Re: kernel install failed /bin/cp: cannot stat ‘/boot/initrd.img-4.3.0-7-generic’: No such file or directory
Looking at the postinst script, it calls update-initramfs -u and expects it to do somethin, i.e. create the initramfs. However, it can choose to not do so, and deffer the update. And thus not create an initramfs. However, when we are upgrading to a new kernel image, we expect to generate an initramfs cause we will be fixing symlinks and so on right after.
