to me it works fine at 150 and 300 but hangs at 600.  
ubuntu 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-9-generic. GNOME 2.24.1. xsane Installed: 
0.995-3ubuntu2
but i don't see the box-option color in color management panel
(according xsane site should be immediately over 'full color range' option)
another problem: the viewer window get the whole screen and can not be reduced 
if I enable visual effects 'normal',
the problem disappears with visual effects 'none' - NVIDIA driver version 177

Did you change any of the settings on compiz manager?

Could you open a terminal window and run this command:

unity --reset

and see if this brings the sidebar back?

still having the problem w Simple Scan and ubuntu 14.04 w all fixes. The 
problem does not happens with XSane, but after using Simple Scan also XSane 
does not find the scanner.

cheese same problem changing webcam resolution with internal webcam on HP620 
and external philips vesta on ubuntu 14.04 amd 64.
works fine with 14.10 and 15.04 installed on same hardware different partitions.
note in 14.04 cheese preference lists many photo and video resolutions from 
1600x1200 to 176x144 while in 14.10 and 15.04 resolutions listed are only these 
supported by the webcam.

today (mar 20) updates wallpaper is dark gray. try change from Files

utopic and both are ok. also on vivid the problem arrived after some

the problem started about 2015-03-23 but ...
my ubuntu vivid was installed from a daily (alpha?) the 28-oct-14 and then 
updated each 2 or 3 days ...

today I installed the last daily (26-mar-15) on a different partition
and the problem disappeared.

if needed for debug I still have the partition with the problem, but for
me the bug can be closed.

I have same problem on vivid:
unity8 in lxc black screen with cursor on Vivid

I added the unity8-lxc PPA 
('http://ppa.launchpad.net/unity8-desktop-session-team/unity8-preview-lxc/ubuntu
 vivid main'), 
installed unity8-lxc and then used `sudo unity8-lxc-setup` and `sudo 
unity8-lxc-setup --rebuild-all` 
... black screen with mouse arrow ... power off to reboot.
sudo unity8-lxc-setup --update-lxc ... failed with errors like in 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8-lxc/+bug/1418671

sudo -i
and 
unity8-lxc-setup --update-lxc
completed ok

after reboot on LightDM I selected unity8 in lxc, entered password ... black 
screen with mouse arrow.
the arrow follows the mouse, but I was unable to do anything.
CTRL+F1 has no effect, power off to reboot.

after moving to new kernel 4.2.0 trying to solve the problem in bug #1474898
my wifi using Ralink RT3290 is very unstable, the wifi signal looks very poor, 
the wifi connections stops and sometimes I can restrart with enable wifi, 
sometimes I can restart it only rebooting.

[Bug 1502674] [NEW] stellarium 0.13.3-2 hangs on wily 4.2.0-12-generic

I just installed stellarium 0.13.3-2 on a new wily with kernel 4.2.0-12-generic.
stellarium starts and the time runs, I'm able to move the sky with mouse, but 
if I try to exit from full screen, or to set location, or any other operation 
it freezes. The only way to exit is poweroff. To have more information I 
started system monitor before stellarium and click on full screen icon. 
Stellarium reduces to non-fullscreen and hangs, system monitor hangs too. Note: 
stellarium works fine on same laptop, different partition with ubuntu 14.4 LTS.

still having the problem with 14.04.3 64bit kernel 3.19.0-33. works fine
with 15.10 wily kernel 3.19.0-18. also if it's time to move to 14.10 I
think trusty should be updated being LTS.

I run the 'unity' command from terminal so I have the app menus in the menu bar

On my desktop i have 2 Xenial installed in 2 different partitions. The
problem appears allways, immediately after login on the Xenial installed
in partition p3, but does not appear in the Xenial in partition p10. So
I imagine the problem is NOT hardware dependent. I attached the inxi
output from for both partitions. Should i run apport-collect 1539939
from both partitions?

I have 3 different installations of Ubuntu Xenial on different partitions of 
the same desktop PC. 
sda3 installed dic 18 2015 - sda10 mar 10 2016 - sda9 apr 6 2016
the 3 systems are upgraded with all the maintenance available today mon-apr-11 
the installed applications are (about) the same
the problem still appear on 2 install (sda3 and sda10) but seems disappeared on 
sda9 (shutdown-restart 9 times)

Also for kstars i see a screenshot on software-center but not in GNOME
software. Also synaptic shows a a screenshot for kstars and cheese.
Please install software center (and synaptic) by default also in the new
16.04 installations.

command after each login.

The problem disappeared in my installations but I note a strange
behavior:

In system Appearance i have the standard behavior: show menus in the
menu bar displayed on mouse hovering.

if I open nautilus from the launcher or from the dash or from terminal I
have the menu as from standard behavior. If I open nautilus from
terminal with 'sudo nautilus' i see the menu in the window title bar.

If I open a document from terminal with 'gedit xxx' I see the menu, if I
do 'sudo gedit xxx' I have NO menu.

was working fine on Ubuntu 16.04 and also on 16.10 before last updates. After 
last updates on 16.10 the wifi dropdown menu is empty. no way to connect. i'm 
writing from 16.04, i will go back to 16.10 to prepare some doc. I have 16.04 
and 16.10 on different partitions of same laptop HP250. If i start with 16.10 i 
see no wifi; then if i do restart and reboot on 16.04 i still have no wifi. to 
have wifi i must shutdown-poweroff and restart with 16.04 or 14.04. 
Please specify what doc is needed.
