[Bug 274461] Re: gnome-system-monitor window is semi-transparent when using compiz
It is stupid to have the apps set opacity, that is Compiz' job. If you put the settings in the apps the user has to control them per-app. If you let the compositing manager handle opacity then all the settings are in one place. It's not a feature, it's an intentional bug, and it's done the WRONG way. I would go so far as to say it's done the anti-Unix way, which is to have small tools that work well and don't have too many features. This is definitely a feature that doesn't belong in the tool since the typical desktop already has a mechanism for managing this. [Bug 1078717] [NEW] keyboard and mouse nonfunctional at boot
Public bug reported: I used to have this problem, but it eventually went away, and now it's back. When I boot, my keyboard and mouse are nonfunctional. They become functional if I wait, just about long enough to wake my slow Vista netbook from sleep and log in via ssh. This is relevant because if I log in via ssh, my keyboard and mouse start working. But if I wait, they will start working on their own. This is horribly frustrating. Public bug reported: Selecting the default kernel gives error bad magic number. This happened after upgrading to the -19 kernel. It's still happening with the -21 kernel. [Bug 1016913] [NEW] pull down tab, firefox takes over mouse focus
Public bug reported: If I pull down a tab (to open it out to a new window) then I never get my mouse pointer back; it retains the pull-down pointer and I cannot use it for anything. I can alt-tab to a terminal and kill firefox, though, at which point it returns to normal. Re: [Bug 1213357] Re: USB3 card does not come back from suspend in timely fashion
I'd love to, but the nvidia won't dkms under the current mainline kernel. If you would like me to try a particular mainline kernel version, I will do that, but your suggestion does not work for me.
