Re: ttf-ubuntu-title font package

2006-03-14 Thread Ravi Kumar
hi,
I am currently writing a paper on "Customizing and Improving LINUX"... I want to make a stream specialized in Desktop. So this way Ubuntu team will get much help.  I am working on some Desktops based issues, Improvements.. and yup, I want to say, i am getting OSX and WIndows in my paper, I want to make best out for desktop experiences. f something is good in other OS, i want LINUX ppl to think on that and if possible, adopt it with out own version

Friends, if u think this is wastage of time, and there is no need for such paper and work, please let me know in advance. Maybe my thinking is wrong,

It really shouldn't be on the system by default. It's a little bit silly
that we have it in the archive at all, but hey. May as well version it by
our packaging standards. ;-)

I'd recommend Bitsream Vera Sans Bold, or using vector output or glyph
embedding in documents such as PDF, etc. Makes them bigger, but saves you
cross-platform. When it comes to stuff like OpenOffice.org files, you really
have to stick to the standard fonts. Ideally, we want these files to be used
across other operating systems too.

You should totally write an [1]MainInclusionReport for it :-). Seems a
bit odd if Ubuntu-specific things like our very own font isn't supported
by us.

ttf-ubuntu-title font package

2006-03-08 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma

The ubuntu title font package is currently in Universe. Could/should it
be installed on the system by default? The example content files I'm
preparing now would certainly look much better if that were the case. I
can't really find any other heading fonts that look as nice in documents
presenting Ubuntu.
