Just join the team on launchpad, logout and back into the wiki and then edits can be made. There has never been a decision made by anyone in a position of authority that was not logical, rapid, well-intended, well-thought out or anything of that kind. The most favourite line of these people is "After long and thoughtful consideration" ;-). ;-). Anyway > We're also investigating other options of course. I don't know if spam software is written for your specific system. If not, you could just change the parameters so that bots cannot find it. Not sure if that is helpful though, probably not. We made a rapid and logical decision to mitigate the relentless spam we were getting. This isn't a perfect solution. It's now harder for people to do drive by edits, and we (admins) are getting numerous spurious requests to join the team every day and have that extra workload to deal with. We're also investigating other options of course. Thanks for alerting us to the omission. That page is now fixed. While Wikipdia about Ubuntu was edited today? Likely people aren't aware what's going on ;), so yes, it's hard, if you don't know what to do. In my case, I dislike to subscribe to another instance to contribute. There are not that many experienced Linux pro-audio users spending time to edit help pages related to this domain. Any additional time-consuming steps are bad. In addition I mistrust that the reason for this approach is spam.
