Re: ntfs-3g in Lucid
So glad to hear it will make it into Lucid! Logical choice or not, many of us are forced to use large (fragmented, even!) NTFS drives because high-throughput data acquisition or other machines unfortunately run proprietary operating systems. Also, for collaboration and data-sharing, we do not ship ext4 disks around =( So we have no option but to use NTFS, and 2009.4.4 wasn't cutting it. Really appreciate everyone's work ensuring we won't have to manually upgrade all our ntfs-3g on data analysis machines! We have already a merge request [1] and Colin Watson is working on it. BTW, syncs and sync request are only for unmodified packages. We need to do a merge, if the package was modified in Ubuntu. In point of fact, in the real world, NTFS is the logical choice, and hence needs to work well. -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
