UGr for OEM or sell

2014-12-28 Thread Narcis Garcia
Hello:

Does Ubuntu-GNOME project have any distribution condition to limit the
sell of this operating system flavour and/or include it preinstalled
in ICT market?

HTML5 Simulation Update

2014-12-28 Thread Keith I Myers
Hello All,
It has been a few days since I last updated everyone about my HTML5 based
simulation of Ubuntu GNOME. Over the weekend, I have done quite a bit of
work on the platform and I am happy to say that it is looking great. I have
completed the bootloader simulation, plymouth simulation and have GDM
almost completely done.

I have also updated the UI elements to match the first Alpha build of
Ubuntu 15.04 (VV) to make it a bit more relevant to the upcoming release. I
still need to do a lot more work on it before I am ready to let you guys
take it out for a spin but I did record a short YouTube video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI4mdagZ-A0

I am hoping to get it to a point that I can do an initial upload of the
source code within the next few weeks.

Incredible;
Is it a graphical simulation, or an usable interface?

Hello Narcis,
It is actually functional. You can try the outdated GNOME Shell Interface
here - http://ubuntu-gnome.kmyers.me/?showguide=false

Best to use Google Chrome or Firefox. It also is designed for high res
screens (1080p)

Ubuntu GNOME is an official flavour of Ubuntu. Both are 100% free. You can
download it from the internet, install it and use it.

We don't sell the system because it is not for sell :)

If you're asking whether you can use it on your business and make money out
of Free and Open Source Software, that's IMHO fine :)

There are however some guidelines you need to read like using Ubuntu and/or
GNOME trademarks, etc.

To sell OEM machines with Ubuntu GNOME pre-installed may require licensing (for
trademarks etc) from Canonical and GNOME Foundation. I don't
know the details though since I have never really looked into it.

There are however some guidelines you need to read like using Ubuntu and/or
 GNOME trademarks, etc.
