Ubiquity removes fcitx when the selected locale isn't any of CJKV (such
behavior is supported by the canonical desktop team), so I'd recommend
to do the same on input methods in such a way which will not hurt users

This problem lives in im-config/gnome-language-selector, reassigning.

Also, fcitx developers and maintainers stand on a view that installing
without Recommends enabled means people who's doing that is willing to
solve any problem occurred during the process, while leaving the package
split as such keeps maximum flexibility to developers and power users.

Probably not exactly the same steps to reproduce if you want to be
precise - the original was saying nothing is listed, that was led by
802.1X support is missing unexpectedly, but now some of the file types

That's another issue, but true they looks very similar. Without the
current update, if you are connecting to a discovered SSID then the
properties can show-up but you aren't able to select any certificate/key
file, if it's not discovered by manually added then the encryption type
is not able to be selected.

The problem you can reproduce is which extension is shown in the list...
Would you mind to open another report?

I'm setting this report to verification-done, because the problem is
fixed:

1. Previously, if you create a connection from the menu instead of connecting 
to an SSID that's listed in the discovered Wi-Fi, and select the encryption 
method, WPA/WPA2 Enterprise is inactive (listed but cannot be selected).
2. This is not presented the same way when connecting to a discovered SSID, but 
user is not able to connect any 802.1X connection because support for such type 
of encryption is inactive.
3. After installing the update, creation of 802.1X connections are possible. 
<-- So the bug is fixed.
4. Some of the keys or certs could not be selected due to the reason of the 
file's extension name, like .key file, but this is not a problem this fix 
targets to.

  3. Select Wi-Fi connection
  4. Go to Wi-Fi Security tab
  5. Select WPA & WPA2 Enterprise in the drop-down list
  6. Choose TLS
  7. Click on (None) next to Private key
  8. In file chooser navigate to the folder where key is located and try to 
select key file - the list is empty
  
- I'm absolutely sure that private key file exists in the folder and is
- correct. As a workaround TLS can be configured manually using
- wpa_supplicant.

+ NM needs to re-read the DEVTYPE after the device name changed, an example is 
that WiFi network list disappears from network manager applet
  
  Steps to reproduce: -
  
  1. Connect to a WiFi AP.
  2. Switch off the AP OR switch off the wifi in the computer.
  3. Switch point (2) back on.
  4. The network will get connected to the AP it was connected to in point (1).
  
  Problems:-
  
  1. The network manager applet does not show the list of WiFI APs it can find.
  2. The network manager applet does not the name of the AP to which it is 
connected
  3. The icon of the applet shows two vertical arrows in opposite direction - 
the wired connection symbol and NOT the wifi connected icon.

  Temporary Workaround:-
  Log out and again log back in.

in the right other for the call to g_dbus_proxy_new_sync() call.
(LP: #1568336)

This patch has been included in the upstream release of 1.2.0 and can be dropped
safely.

@joakimkoed, Bug #1574020 could be another issue which isn't addressed
in this SRU (but haven't reproduced that yet).

@amribrahim1987, delta is still not a lot since last merge
(1.1.93-0ubuntu1), we do merges when delta accumulates but might not do
that every time because it will lead to quite some work load. Since this
update is also intended for Xenial SRU, minimal changes are expected.

Would like to vote for this option since NM does identify the device
based on MAC (considering mostly for desktop use cases, which covers
most day-to-day usages/troubles). For human beings remembering a MAC
address is much harder than plugging in the device into certain USB
port(s) she/he is familiar with.
