ibus template problem

2011-10-09 Thread Iñigo Varela
Anyone know why the ibus template always appears incomplete for 'ast'
and 'lv' languages? I see that in other languages it's possible complete
it, (ca, da, nl, fr, de, it, hu, pt, es, ) The string
translator-credits it's not editable, so I don't know what's
happening...

Evolution typo?

2010-08-29 Thread Iñigo Varela
Hi translators.

I've seen something in Evolution that I think it's a typo
When I receive an attachment in Evolution, and I want to open it, just
need to do double-click on it. But the message I get is Saving

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/2258/opening.png

The icon shows that I'm Saving, but I'm opening it. (If I want to
save i only need to click on the button on the right, and if I want
save as, just click right-button on the mouse )

I think that the string should be Opening
(short link to LP translation)--- http://acurti.es/W4h

What do you think? It's a typo? (or maybe i'm wrong...)

Re: Installer translations

2010-07-01 Thread Iñigo Varela
Hi Sveinn
We had a similar case some time ago:
Our precious Asturian language xD was not offered in the installer even
with all translations done in Launchpad: debian-installer, ubiquity
(I can't remember when it was ... maybe *buntu 9.04)

So we decided (as many times it's said here...) translate the apropriate
packages in upstream (DEBIAN)

I've seen that there are 3 levels. In your case:
http://d-i.debian.org/l10n-stats/level1/files/is/
http://d-i.debian.org/l10n-stats/level2/files/is/
http://d-i.debian.org/l10n-stats/level3/files/is/

...levels 2 and 3 seem incompleted. My advice is: better if you complete
them in upstream. That's all what i can tell you :S

 So the questions are:

Are there other packages needed fully translated for our

Is there a protocol/announcement to make if we want our

Would such inclusion be ready for the release of 10.04.1 (or

When is the next update of translations for 10.04 ?

fsck messages through Usplash

2010-04-19 Thread Iñigo Varela
Hi translators,
Since grub has now become translatable, it seems that the only strings
untranslatable are:

Filesystem checks are in progress (xx)% and Press ESC to skip. (it
happens during Usplash)

I have found in this bug something relating to this:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/207387

Gabor Kelemen says in comment #4: Those were fixed yesterday in bug
#390740 :)

But I've followed the bug, and I can't see the way to translate them.

am I on a mistake?

On the other hand, it does not seem to work - I tried to put the

Could somebody test it? Perhaps it's just me... sudo tune2fs -C 500

It does not work for me too... I've just translated it and put
in /usr/share/locale-langpack/my_lang_code/LC_MESSAGES without results..

It's rare, but the string Filesystem checks are in progress does not
appears in the template :S (Maybe exists another template to translate?)

[Bug 511837] Re: Latest language pack in 'karmic-proposed' breaks Firefox in Asturian

2010-01-25 Thread Iñigo Varela
Hi!
First of all:
1.- Sorry for my english level and
2.- I'm not a programmer, only a tester, so this is only a clue.

I think that I've found the problem. It seems that in the package, the
files:

/usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/langpack-
a...@firefox-3.5.ubuntu.com/chrome.manifest

/usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/extensions/langpack-
a...@xulrunner-1.9.1.ubuntu.com/chrome.manifest

..are wrong.

I've fixed it replacing both files with the files that i send in the
attachment.
It works well, but I'm not a programmer, so the chrome.manifest files that I
attach, should be tested by someone...

Another thing more:
the file firefox-3.5-ast.jar contents in /locale/browser/ a file named
aboutCertError.dtd
This file still is wrong. I detailed how it should be fixed to avoid problems
in Sites with Security
Certificate in:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.5/+bug/472327

Thank you for your work, I hope this will help you to solve it...

Apostrophe in date format in Ubuntu/Gnome

2009-12-07 Thread Iñigo Varela
In Asturian language, like in English, is common the use of Apostrophe,
i.e. (I am-- I'm; do not--Don't)
In this way, Asturian use Apostrophe with word de, when the following
word begins with vowel:

ASTURIANENGLISH

19 de xineru(19th of January)
19 de febreru (19th of February)
19 de marzu (19th of March)
19 d'abril (19th of April)
19 de mayu (19th of May)
19 de xunu (19th of June)
19 de xunetu(19th of July)
19 d'agostu (19th of august)
19 de setiembre (19th of september)
19 d'ochobre(19th of october)
19 de payares (19th of november)
19 d'avientu(19th of december)

Today is 7th of december, and in my calendar I can see 7 de avi. The
correct form should be: 7 d'avi.
I have found in gdm and gnome-panel that the format for date is:

%a, %e de %b - llu, 7 de avi (mon, 7th of dec), instead of correct
form that must be llu, 7 d'avi

Obviously, this format works for a few months, but it doesn't work in
abril (April), agostu (August), ochobre (October), and avientu
(December)

How can we do for use the apostrophe with the name of months that begins
with vowel? Any language with same problem?

There are similar problems with vowel exceptions in other languages.

As far as I know there is no trivial/feasible solution and while 7 de
avi is still correct, I don't think we need to add complexity in the
 system.
Many translators are puzzled by plural forms, adding vowel exceptions
could cause more problems than solutions.
