Re: [ubuntu-in] strange behavior of cursor while typing
well, you didn't said whether you are using laptop or workstation, please specify, if you are using laptop or similar devices, it might be because of your touchpad, try disabling the touchpad while typing(you may see any function switch for that), and reply -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
Re: [ubuntu-in] [Ilugc] TN Govt. LapTop
Well, The best thing might be explaining the GNU philosophy. ;) Also, Its good to provoke government saying what the Kerala government have done. The Kerala government have avoided proprietary softwares completely until 10th standard. Now the syllabus include Open office,Gimp,Python et. And I heard that the Kerala government is including only free softwares in the laptops that are going to be distributed in( a few) selected schools{ This was inaugurated ~three days before}.The platform used is IT @ school( a variant of Edubuntu). if (a bad idea) Sorry -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Re: [ubuntu-in] alternative to open office? (Sriranga(78yrsold))
Even many thinks that windows XP , M$ Office , etc as a whole are just having a cost not more than Rs 150 which is given to the Computer Service Center(?) ,Anyway I'm happy with the Kerala Government action at the Schools, They have completely removed M$ from the school syllabus up to 10th grade and introduced programming language python , (before it was QBAsic),gimp, open office etc -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
