[Bug 281348] Re: Firefox only shows default icons in toolbars with tabmixplus and ubufox installed

2009-10-05 Thread Murz
The problem exists not only with tabmixplus extension, today I have installed
fresh Ubuntu Karmic Beta1 with firefox 3.5, install some extensions:
* Classic Compact Options 1.1.3
* ColorfulTabs 3.9.4
* Delicious Bookmarks 2.1.062
* MR Tech Toolkit 6.0.3.4
* Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.8b1
* Weave 0.7

And after this I see icons in bars hidden, after disabling Ubuntu
Firefox Modifications 0.8b1 it goes back.

[Bug 424132] Re: [kubuntu] OOo KDE file dialog is utterly broken.

2009-10-05 Thread Murz
I have found a new small issue on KDE Karmic Beta:
When I try to Save as file with dots in filename in another format, kde
dialog cuts the filename to the first dot.
For example, I try to save my.file.example.odt as my.file.example.doc, I
press Save as and see only my in filename.
Please test and add it to the Bug Description.

[Bug 437649] [NEW] bluetoothd Permission denied (13) when connecting A2DP headset

2009-09-27 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

I have a Nokia BH-504 bluetooth headset and Ubuntu Karmic.
Via blueman-applet (I try 1.10 and 1.20 versions) I can successfully add and
pair the bluetooth headset, but can't connect A2DP sink profile (and Headset
Service too).
When I try to connect, it tries, but show the error Connection Failed: Stream
setup failed.
In /var/log/daemon.log I see the record at same time:
Sep 27 17:09:33 kit bluetoothd[1940]: Permission denied (13)

This record shows each time when I try to connect.

I try to pair and connect via priveleged users, via kdesudo, via root user and
always see the permission error.
On Windows I have succesfully connected this headset and computer.

At now I have:
bluez 4.51-0ubuntu2
blueman 1.20+r496+200909251843~karmic

Which permissions does bluetoothd needs? How I can give him this
permissions?

I didn't use compiz, I use Kubuntu with default windows manager. This bug
reproduces sometimes, not every time, but 5-30 times a day (alt-tab pressed
more than 1000 times per day).
In Karmic Aplha 6 fresh install this bug didn't reproduce for me at now.

hasi, I have the same problems on Kubuntu Jaunty with OOo 3.1.1 and on Kubuntu

And in OOo 3.1.1 from ppa in Jaunty I can't open any file via file picker,

Removing openoffice.org-kde solves this problem, but all open dialogs changes

[Bug 420094] [NEW] Installer hangs on not stable internet connection

2009-08-27 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Very often I try to install Ubuntu from Ubuntu minimal cd (mini.iso) on
different computers. I have not so speedy and stable internet connection.
And very often install process hangs on step Installing base system -
Retrieving packages because it try to download some package but download
process hangs at some time or broken and reconnected (maybe reconnected with
another dynamic ip). Because my internet is not so quick (128kbps) the download
process goes long time (more than one hour, and all of this time I see the
progress bar at 6%!!) and chance to got the disconnect or connect problems is
very big!

I didn't see the download process and can't detect when it hangs! I can
look at 6% and package name and wait many hours when something changes,
but nothing changes! And I didn't see any error or progress messages in
installer log file!

I see only the name of package downloading now, but no indicators of received
bytes, download speed, no buttons for stop or restart download process, no
method to select another mirror or retry download process from start.
For solve the problem I need to restart the computer and try to install all
again from first step!

I think the installer must have this functions when downloading something from
the internet:
- shows the download indicator of each file in bytes
- shows the download speed
- shows which file from which location is downloaded
- have the buttons for restart or retry file download process
- option to break the download process and go back to mirror select
- option to change selected mirror and continue download from another mirror

Please do Ubuntu more user-friendly for users with low speed internet
connections!

Maybe installer have this functional optionally and I can turn it on
with some startup commands?

2009-08-26 Thread Murz
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 250330 ***

Jonathan Thomas, this bug is not a duplicate of bug #250330 because it isn't
exists in Kubuntu 9.04, bu exists only in Kubuntu 9.10 alpha 4.
And this messages shows automatically without run the kdesudo and other actions
manually.
If I starts kdesudo manually, for example kdesudo kate, it works.
I think this is not a kdesudo bug, but bug in kde-workspace or ubuntu kde
addons, because, I think, some program try to start other program but miss the
arguments for kdesudo...
And I can't find the way to detect which process shows try to run automatically

[Bug 396605] Re: Bad CHARSET in filenames of zip archives, created with ubuntu

2009-07-08 Thread Murz
I have tested this bug on Arch Linux Live CD (2009.02) and it have no problems!
Locale is ru_RU.UTF-8, I have created a test file тестовый_файл.txt, pack it
with Context menu of Konqueror to zip, and after that it correctly unpacked on
Windows XP. File, created with archlinux, is attached.
I think we need to compare sources of zip in ArchLinux and Ubuntu for find
solution. If I found something, I'll post here.

[Bug 396605] [NEW] Bad CHARSET in filenames of zip archives, created with ubuntu

2009-07-07 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

I try to create a zip archive on Ubuntu (using Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64) with
non-latin symbols in filename that opens correctly on Windows XP but
can't do it.

All non-latin (Russian) symbols shows in Windows XP (I try standart
support of ZIP in WinXP and 7zip on windows) bad.

For example, I create the file named тестовый_файл.txt and try to pack via
standart zip and 7z:
$ 7z a ./test_linux_7z.zip ./тестовый_файл.txt
$ zip -r ./test_linux_zip.zip ./тестовый_файл.txt

And I try to create the archive on Windows XP via internal zip
(test_win_winxp.zip) and 7zip (test_win_7z.zip)

After that I can correctly view the filename in all files in Linux:
$ unzip -l ./test_linux_zip.zip
4  07-07-09 18:49   тестовый_файл.txt
$ unzip -l ./test_linux_7z.zip
4  07-07-09 18:49   тестовый_файл.txt
$ unzip -l ./test_win_winxp.zip
4  07-07-09 18:49   тестовый_файл.txt
$ unzip -l ./test_win_7z.zip
4  07-07-09 18:49   тестовый_файл.txt

But on WINDOWS I try to list filenames in archives that created on
linux, but it shows bad:

E:\murz\archC:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe l test_linux_zip.zip
7-Zip 4.57  Copyright (c) 1999-2007 Igor Pavlov  2007-12-06
   Date  TimeAttr Size   Compressed  Name
--- -
2009-07-07 18:49:14 .44
С'РчС_С'Р_Р_СР№_СайР.txt
--- -

E:\murz\archC:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe l test_linux_7z.zip
2009-07-07 18:49:14 .44
С'РчС_С'Р_Р_СР№_СайР.txt

E:\murz\archC:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe l test_win_winxp.zip
2009-07-07 18:49:14 .44  тестовый_файл.txt

E:\murz\archC:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe l test_win_7z.zip
2009-07-07 18:49:14 A44  тестовый_файл.txt

And if I try to list via Windows internal zip, I see bad filename too
(results are on attached screenshot).

I have attached to bug all created files for testing.

How I can correctly create a zip archive on Ubuntu that normally
extracts on windows?

[Bug 396605] Re: Bad CHARSET in filenames of zip archives, created with ubuntu

2009-07-07 Thread Murz
I searched that for correct filenames in zip on Windows it must be
stored in DOS (CP866) encoding. But I can't find how to force zip
command create filenames in DOS encoding.

Command unzip have an options for working with DOS encoding:
$ unzip --help
  -O CHARSET specify a character encoding for DOS, Windows and OS/2 archives
  -I CHARSET specify a character encoding for UNIX and other archives

But zip didn't work with this options:
$ zip -O DOS -r ./test2.zip ./тестовый_файл.txt
zip error: Invalid command arguments (no such option: O)

[Bug 384011] [NEW] LIRC didn't work with Home-brew (Igor Cesko's variant) IR receiver on Jaunty

2009-06-05 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lirc

I have found an old bug
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lirc/+bug/138247), but it was
already solved, I open a new bug.

I have an Home-brew (Igor Cesko's variant) connected to COM2. But it didn't
work with my device but works with Girder 3.2 IgorXP.dll.
And I can't tune lirc to work with it!
I have install lirc, select Home-brew (Igor Cesko's variant)(16x50 UART
compatible serial port) in Receivers and None in Transmitters.
I try to set the option:
LIRC_SERIAL_CFLAGS= -DLIRC_SERIAL_SOFTCARRIER -DLIRC_SERIAL_IGOR
or not to set.
LIRC starts succesfully, but irw and mode2 shows none when I press the buttons
on IR Transmitter.

On starting LIRC I see in message.log:
Jun 5 21:08:52 kit kernel: [ 2393.195311] lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver
registered, major 61
Jun 5 21:08:53 kit kernel: [ 2393.700880] lirc_serial_igor: auto-detected

sample_rate: 0

# lsmod | grep lirc
lirc_serial_igor 23336 0
lirc_dev 22088 1 lirc_serial_igor

I try this on two computers (one is fresh Jaunty, other - upgraded from
Intrepid).

What I do wrong and how to get it works with Jaunty?
Can I give you additional info about this problem?

[Bug 381162] [NEW] KDM crashes after resume from suspend (S3)

2009-05-27 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

I have using Kubuntu Jaunty AMD64 on ASUS M3N78-EM (NVIDIA GeForce 8300
chipset) with internal video and NVIDIA Driver Version 180.44. KDM version is
4:4.2.2-0ubuntu2.
At default, it each time didn't resume nomally after S3 suspend, because it
didn't start HDD after resume. I have added pci=nomsi parameter to kernel,
after this it goes to suspend with hands and wakes up normally: after resume I
see my locked KDE session with all loaded programs.
My computer go to S3 suspend after 15 minuts of inactivity.

But 7 of 10 times after automatic suspend and resume I see clear KDM login
screen instead of suspended active KDE session!
At this time in /var/log/kdm.log I see:

Same problem on Asus M3N78-EM SATA HDD Western Digital 320gb Kubuntu 9.04.

I try the AHCI and SATA modes on the bios, enable/disable AHCI 2.0, upgrade

[Bug 122402] Re: [7.10] [xubuntu] Install fails Failed to determine codename for the release

2009-05-06 Thread Murz
I have downloaded and checked an ubuntu-9.04-alternate-amd64.iso CD and see
this bug too.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Download ubuntu-9.04-alternate-amd64.iso

2. Create a bootable USB (or HDD) using unetbootin from this iso

3. Boot a comuter from this USB (or HDD)

4. Process the install to the step load installer components from cd
(ignoring failed detection of CDROM)

5. Go to console (alt+f2)

6. Mount drive with installer files to the /cdrom:
# mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /cdrom

7. Copy folder /cdrom/dists/jaunty to /cdrom/dists/stable (because if we copy
ISO to the FAT system via unetbootin, symlink /cdrom/dists/stable converts to
empty file) with commands:
# rm /cdrom/dists/stable
# cp /cdrom/dists/jaunty /cdrom/dists/stable -R

8. Go back to installer (alt+f1)

9. Start the step load installer components from cd again.

9.1. Solve the unetbootin bug (when copying files, file
pool/main/l/linux/fs-secondary-modules-2.6.28-11-generic-di_2.6.28-11.42_amd64.udeb
 saves as
pool/main/l/linux/fs-secondary-modules-2.6.28-11-generic-di_2.6.28-11.42_amd64.ude):
- when we see the error problem reading data from the CDROM we goes to
console (alt+f2) and type
# cp
/cdrom/pool/main/l/linux/fs-secondary-modules-2.6.28-11-generic-di_2.6.28-11.42_amd64.ude/cdrom/pool/main/l/linux/fs-secondary-modules-2.6.28-11-generic-di_2.6.28-11.42_amd64.udeb
after that returns to the installer (alt+f1) and on Retry click Yes.

10. Process next steps, partitioning, etc
11. On step Install the base system we will see the error:
[!!] Install the base system
Debootstrap Error
Failed to determine codename for the release.

And I don't know how I can solve this error. Screenshots of this error
is attached

[Bug 357040] [NEW] Application Launcher losts focus on its window

2009-04-07 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have a Kubuntu Jaunty Beta upgraded from Intrepid on three computers (with
different using people and settings).
After upgrade I see that in all computers Application Launcher window losts
focus when I clicking on K button in KDE panel.
On Intrepid I press K and can type some text in quick search field of
Application Launcher and navigate by meny with keyboard. But now focus stay
at the last selected window and all keyboard events (typing, arrow keys, etc)
sent to this window instead of Application Launcher.

And when I click on K and after that click on another window,
Application Launcher windows didn't hide! I need to click on
Application Launcher window and after that - on other window to hide

[Bug 241000] Re: Pairing: passcode dialogue disappears in 1 second

2009-04-05 Thread Murz
I have updated my Kubuntu Intrepid to Jaunty beta1 (config-files of
bluetooth reset to default), try to pair device. Mobile phone sees my
computer, I try to pair, sets the password, but I can't see the pair
dialog on KDE and see the error pairing process on mobile phone.

P.S. Bluez have been updated to bluez-4.34 which includes:
This release add more advanced features to the audio support for
Handsfree/Headset profiles and also A2DP. Advanced system like PulseAudio
should now be able to better interact with BlueZ and also have more control
over multi-profile devices.

But Jaunty have a 4.32-0ubuntu4 version. Will be good to see 4.34 in
Jaunty!

[Bug 241000] Re: Pairing: passcode dialogue disappears in 1 second

2009-01-09 Thread Murz
Confirm the problem on Ubuntu Intrepid i386 with latest updates only
and with additional bluez, compiled from sources:
* bluez-4.26.tar.gz
* bluez-gnome-1.8.tar.gz

  sudo hcitool cc 00:19:DB:0A:xx:yy sudo hcitool auth
00:19:DB:0A:xx:yy

a notifier window will pop up for ~1 second and then disappear.

If I click on the notifier window fastest, the main passcode/pincode
entry dialogue will disappear. This also disappears within 1second.

[Bug 241000] Re: Pairing: passcode dialogue disappears in 1 second

2009-01-09 Thread Murz
setting the command
sudo hciconfig hci0 auth
before connecting helps me to prevent disappearing the pin dialog.
I have find this method here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/fedora/+source/bluez-gnome/+bug/284994/comments/90

1) First operations is finding the GPS device address with this command:

hcitool scan
Scanning ...

 00:13:F1:01:40:AE BT-GPS 0140AE

 00:18:8D:11:5F:F3 Zinux6680

Record the BT-GPS address, this is used later.

2) Enable the authentication on the pc blue-tooth dongle.

sudo hciconfig hci0 auth

3)Create a connection with the device
sudo hcitool cc 00:13:F1:01:40:AE

Now a popup menu request the pin for the device, insert it.

[Bug 257907] [NEW] Keyboard randomly blocks on KDE4 applications when USB keyboard is attached to PC

2008-08-14 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde4

I have use a notebook ACER C300 (Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor, Intel® 855GME
chipset) with external USB keyboard and KDE 4.1 session (Kubuntu Hardy 8.04
with KDE 4.1 release).
Integrated to notebook and external USB keyboards works good. But randomly
(after 30 mins or after 8 hours of working in KDE 4.1 session) keyboards locks
and I can't type anything or use KDE hotkeys in both keyboards!
But linux shortcuts works good! I can switch language (Alt+Shift), can activate
another terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F2) and both keyboards in this text terminal works
good and I can switch back to KDE4 (but keyboard stay not working in KDE
applications); and I can correctly kill Xorg session with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace!
After restarting Xorg, both keyboards goes work normally.

I can't found any error messages in /var/log/messages or any other log
with errors in the time of problem starts.

I try already 2 keyboards: Genius KB-06XE and OKLICK 520 S.

This issue I have got on my computer about a month ago and see it almost
every day and very often many times a day.

And today my friend buy a new USB keyboard (Genius KB-06XE) and got this bug
too!
He have a stationary computer (not notebook) with another processor and
motherboard chipset (full-size motherboard), Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 with KDE 4.1
release.

Does anybody got this bug in your systems?
