[Bug 862136] Re: Can't define network with IPv6 address in libvirt - fails to define address
From: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=123855 In commit 1faa4356a3bd89ea11fb92752d897cff3a20ec0e to the Linux kernel (which was before 2.6.39 got released so this is the first affected version) the behavior of bridges was changed so that they set the carrier state to off if no interfaces are connected. Libvirt connects a dummy interface to the bridge but doesn't set it to 'up', which means that IPv6 is never activated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/862136 Title: Can't define network with IPv6 address in libvirt - fails to define address To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/862136/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 862136] Re: Can't define network with IPv6 address in libvirt - fails to define address
The dummy interface on the bridge is marked down in libvirt to prevent it showing up in the ifconfig listing. But that now also means it won't activate the bridge interface.

You might want to try setting the dummy interface up in libvirt. That may workaround it for now at the expense of polluting the ifconfig listings. ** Patch added: Start dummy bridge interface 'up' rather than 'down' https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/862136/+attachment/2480654/+files/Bring-up-dummy-interface.patch ** Tags added: apport-collected running-unity ** Description changed: When defining a network with an IPv6 address, libvirt fails to allocate the address properly and the launch of the supporting dnsmasq processes fails.
-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/862136 Title: Can't define network with IPv6 address in libvirt - fails to define address To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/862136/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 862136] Re: Can't define network with IPv6 address in libvirt - fails to define address
The dummy interface on the bridge is marked down in libvirt to prevent it showing up in the ifconfig listing. But that now also means it won't activate the bridge interface.

Re: [Bug 783069] Re: Flash slows down with Unity
That response looks more like assumption than investigation. It does precisely the same with Flash Youtube videos. And it slows the entire Unity interface down. And it also recovers after about two minutes once pulseaudio gets over whatever panic attack causes it to use up most of the cpu. The problem appears to be with pulseaudio or something sending messages to pulseaudio. Have we got to the stage where we're not bothering investigating bugs properly? Do I need to stop reporting them? On 26 June 2011 08:44, Bilal Akhtar bilalakh...@ubuntu.com wrote: That's not because of flash (Angry Birds uses WebGL for graphics and flash for sound). Seems like your GPU isn't excellent enough for WebGL and/or Chromium is defaulting to software rendering using libosmesa. In any case, this isn't a Unity bug, but a limitation due to your hardware. [Bug 783069] [NEW] Flash slows down with Unity

[Bug 765843] Re: Intermittent mount failure after growroot
The 'wait-for-root' command won't guard for the events that the BLKRRPART ioctl generates. BLKRRPART generates the following: ubuntu@srv-hgww8:~$ sudo udevadm --debug monitor --udev run_command: calling: monitor monitor will print the received events for: UDEV - the event which udev sends out after rule processing UDEV [1303300813.480716] remove /devices/pci:00/:00:06.0/virtio3/block/vdb/vdb1 (block) UDEV [1303300813.538753] change /devices/pci:00/:00:06.0/virtio3/block/vdb (block) UDEV [1303300813.570692] add /devices/pci:00/:00:06.0/virtio3/block/vdb/vdb1 (block) The 'wait-for-root' command is written presuming that there is no device entry in the database and you're just waiting for it to arrive. If it runs before the kernel has queued or processed the 'remove'event, then it will succeed in any event. The mount will then fail if it runs after the 'remove' event but before the 'add' event completes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/765843 Title: Intermittent mount failure after growroot -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 589090] Re: no ipv6 router advertisements when bridge starts
This has moved on since the bug was reported and the latest version of libvirt (0.8.8) manages a single ipv6 prefix for each bridge with a separate radvd process for every bridge - but as yet is short of options for IPv6 DNS or DNS search lists. [Bug 697197] Re: Empty password allows access to VNC in libvirt
Installed patched build onto Maverick server. vnc_listen set to 0.0.0.0 in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf Set vnc_password=' with vnc_tls=1 in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf and confirmed that the lanched server now rejects authentication for any password, whereas it turned off authentication and encryption completely before. Hashed out vnc_password and left vnc_tls=1 in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf. Confirmed that the server uses anonymous auth with TLS. Allows the user on without a password. qemu-kvm launched with -vnc 0.0.0.0:0,tls,x509=/etc/pki/libvirt-vnc Hashed out vnc_tls=1. Confirmed server allows direct access to VNC. qemu-kvm launched with -vnc 0.0.0.0:0 Set vnc_password=. Confirmed server rejects authentication for any password, with no encryption. Again previously it had just let the user on. qemu-kvm launched with -vnc 0.0.0.0:0,password set vnc_password=password.
