[Bug 1817374] Re: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly

2019-03-04 Thread Pepe Kubon
Thanks Andreas - true but I think this was a symptom rather than a
cause. That lock issue was happening after I ran

sudo dpkg --configure -a

This kept hanging with the message
"This installation of MySQL is already upgraded to 5.7.25, use --force if you
still need to run mysql_upgrade"

I believe the error report got generated after one of these.

Trying to get this resolved, I'd restarted several times but kept
getting into the same locking issue as long as I tried to make the
mysql-server upgrade clear its installation state.

[Bug 1817374] Re: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly

2019-02-22 Thread Pepe Kubon
Stuck on this - tried a bunch of things up to purging mysql-server and
mysql-server-5.7 packages. Reinstalling proceeded fine until the same
blocking message:

Checking if update is needed.
This installation of MySQL is already upgraded to 5.7.25, use --force if you
still need to run mysql_upgrade

At this point the process hangs in the terminal until I stop it manually

dpkg -l | grep mysql-server-5.7 shows "iF" for the status flags

So now I'm really messed up because the problem blocks the reinstall of
mysql-server. Any suggestions as to how to get out of this mess would be
really appreciated.

[Bug 1817374] [NEW] mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly

2019-02-22 Thread Pepe Kubon
Public bug reported:

mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.25, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

sudo service mysql restart
seems to work

sudo dpkg --configure -a says
"This installation of MySQL is already upgraded to 5.7.25, use --force if you

but then it hangs

2018-11-27 Thread Pepe Kubon
As requested, just ran 'apport-collect 1792702' on my system - sorry,
didn't notice the comment about creating an own bug. This is a fresh
install of 18.04.01, with all (two) gnome-shell extensions disabled. The
syslog rolled at 585M yesterday and is now at 33G - all that growth
happening overnight, without any active work being done on the computer.

[Bug 1343962] Re: Sound slider moves itself randomly when scrolling or moving sound pointer

2014-07-22 Thread Indeed Pepe
Hello everybody,

I confirm this bug. Same problem here. The slider is buggy. I also
installed Ubuntu SDK. Despite reinstalling the indicator-sound package
and dependencies, the problem is still remaining... Removing SDK does
not change the problem.

Is this related to NVIDIA proprietary driver that add HDMI sound
driver... (using new NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti) ? Is it related to the sound
chip on my motherboard, despite it is disabled in BIOS... (so no driver
loaded)?

Please give us a solution.

Best regards.

[Bug 1130623] [NEW] I'm trying to install a dual boot with Win7, and it's not letting me partition.

2013-02-20 Thread Pepe Lebuntu
Public bug reported:

I've got a Dell Inspiron 15. I've successfully installed Windows 7, but
when I came to install Ubuntu 12.04LTS, I got to the partition section,
and it freaked out: it refused to offer me option to partition the disk.
In the end, I went into Windows and used it's partioner instead. I then
tried again to install U12.04, and this time it gave me the option to
install Ubuntu next to Windows - but then it ended up erroring, and
refusing to go any further. That's when it asked me to supply you with
this bug report.

[Bug 806403] Re: Libreoffice basic function cdbl ignores decimal numbers

2011-08-05 Thread Pepe Wasquez
Hello, I have the same problem in ubuntu 11.04 32 bits, spanish
language

I have been reading about this here:
http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=70236, and here
http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=78144, but I have no idea how
fix it ..
I have done a clean installation from scratch but the problem persists
The only thing I achieved is with :

cdbl(val(5.5)) ... then I get 5,5 but it's wrong because (,) is the
decimal separator
cdbl(val(5,5)) is 55

Hi Raju,

I'm not THAT much of an expert, that I've had seriously less problems

 Hi All,

As per my previous update, I have been using my laptop on wireless for
over an hour now. I have been browsing the net, played a movie trailer
from my NAS drive and a few other things just to keep the wireless

information and it has been stable at 48-54Mb/s.

Does this mean my laptop will work fine after upgrading from 10.04 to
 10.10?

 Thanks,

First of all, consideration purifies the very fountain, that is the
mind, from which it springs. Then it governs the emotions, directs our
actions, corrects excesses, softens the manners, adorns and regulates
the life, and, lastly, bestows the knowledge of things divine and human

the links, pulls things together, investigates mysteries, traces the

[Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)

2010-01-21 Thread pepe
Yes, there's definitly something fishy about this..

Using just your patch, it will not autodetect without reboot, even if I
unload all alsa modules. So I used printk to extract the values it tries
to match, patch, recompile, install, reload, and then it works. But now
I noticed that without this modification, normal reloading also works
after it was rebooted once. Whats that about?

[Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)

2010-01-19 Thread pepe
Thanks for the patch alex.

I appear to have a slightly different chip than most other MBP 5.2
owners but your mb5 model works quite well. Except for the background
noise on the headphones, which some other guy also complained about
earlier. In Windows the PINs are totally different from the alsa
configuration and there is no noise. I tried to replicate this
configuration in alsa but got no sound at all. Surround/LFE/Center are
also dead.

Anyways, when pushing this upstream maybe you can also merge the
attached patch to recognise my chip.

Its from a 17 MBP from about July 2009.

[Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)

2009-07-23 Thread pepe
Another MBP 5.2 owner here, using Debian unstable with legacy bios boot,
amd64, alsa-driver 1.0.20 and patch posted above.

I did not get pulseaudio to work and I commented out the stuff in
/etc/asound.conf again. My left+right HP speakers both work fine anyway.
However,

- I also have the noise reported by Chris Lasher above, even though mic/line
are muted and gain is minimal.
- The PCM and Master controls only work for speakers, not for HP.
- With mpd, I have to reduce the gain of the HP to about 0% to be comfortable,
and 20 is pretty loud already. Using alsamixer, all other settings muted or 0%
- With mplayer, loudness-levels seem more normal. PCM mixer works. Both, mpd
and mplayer are run with alsa. However, I can not unload snd_mixer_oss, that
might be the culprit here..

Did you compare to PIN settings in windows?

2009-02-05 Thread Pepe
I'm also experiencing trouble with this module. I've got one of the low-
cost Dell Vostro A860 laptops.

It still works but badly, it oftens disables itself (simply no function
anymore without any obvious reason). I then have to do 'sudo ifdown
eth0' 'sudo ifup eth0' to make it work again (but only for a limited
time (which is different every time)).

[Bug 92535] Re: camera:// does not mount camera

2007-12-23 Thread Pepe
I use Kubuntu Gusty and I have that same problem.

Before Feisty failed when it was mounted as camera, but at the same time
it mounted as usb storage and I could explore my camera folders the same
is a pendrive, for example.

Kubuntu Gusty only mounts as camera:// and always fails.

In google I see many people with same problem and no solution.
