[Bug 1817374] Re: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly
Thanks Andreas - true but I think this was a symptom rather than a cause. That lock issue was happening after I ran sudo dpkg --configure -a This kept hanging with the message "This installation of MySQL is already upgraded to 5.7.25, use --force if you still need to run mysql_upgrade" I believe the error report got generated after one of these. Trying to get this resolved, I'd restarted several times but kept getting into the same locking issue as long as I tried to make the mysql-server upgrade clear its installation state. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817374 Title: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1817374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1817374] Re: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly
Stuck on this - tried a bunch of things up to purging mysql-server and mysql-server-5.7 packages. Reinstalling proceeded fine until the same blocking message: Checking if update is needed. This installation of MySQL is already upgraded to 5.7.25, use --force if you still need to run mysql_upgrade At this point the process hangs in the terminal until I stop it manually dpkg -l | grep mysql-server-5.7 shows "iF" for the status flags So now I'm really messed up because the problem blocks the reinstall of mysql-server. Any suggestions as to how to get out of this mess would be really appreciated. -Pp -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817374 Title: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.25 upgrade did not complete properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1817374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)
Yes, there's definitly something fishy about this.. Using just your patch, it will not autodetect without reboot, even if I unload all alsa modules. So I used printk to extract the values it tries to match, patch, recompile, install, reload, and then it works. But now I noticed that without this modification, normal reloading also works after it was rebooted once. Whats that about? [Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)
Thanks for the patch alex. I appear to have a slightly different chip than most other MBP 5.2 owners but your mb5 model works quite well. Except for the background noise on the headphones, which some other guy also complained about earlier. In Windows the PINs are totally different from the alsa configuration and there is no noise. I tried to replicate this configuration in alsa but got no sound at all. Surround/LFE/Center are also dead. Anyways, when pushing this upstream maybe you can also merge the attached patch to recognise my chip. Its from a 17 MBP from about July 2009. ** Attachment added: use model mb5 for some mbp 5.2 chip http://launchpadlibrarian.net/38122670/alsa-mb5.patch -- Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5,1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337314 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337314] Re: Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5, 1)
Another MBP 5.2 owner here, using Debian unstable with legacy bios boot, amd64, alsa-driver 1.0.20 and patch posted above. I did not get pulseaudio to work and I commented out the stuff in /etc/asound.conf again. My left+right HP speakers both work fine anyway. However, - I also have the noise reported by Chris Lasher above, even though mic/line are muted and gain is minimal. - The PCM and Master controls only work for speakers, not for HP. - With mpd, I have to reduce the gain of the HP to about 0% to be comfortable, and 20 is pretty loud already. Using alsamixer, all other settings muted or 0% - With mplayer, loudness-levels seem more normal. PCM mixer works. Both, mpd and mplayer are run with alsa. However, I can not unload snd_mixer_oss, that might be the culprit here.. Did you compare to PIN settings in windows? ** Attachment added: proc/asound/card0/codec#0 http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29421090/alsa.mine -- Left speaker doesn't work, controls mixed up on Apple MacBook[Pro] (5,1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337314 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 92535] Re: camera:// does not mount camera
I use Kubuntu Gusty and I have that same problem. Before Feisty failed when it was mounted as camera, but at the same time it mounted as usb storage and I could explore my camera folders the same is a pendrive, for example. Kubuntu Gusty only mounts as camera:// and always fails. In google I see many people with same problem and no solution.
