[Bug 963093] Re: Unity 5.8: Flickering and corruption on Unity UI elements
I have this problem on my MSi Wind U100 after upgrading yesterday. I have tried both unity --reset and the description from #39. None did work and ended up with same result where the hole desktop environment disapered and would not return. (Chrome and all other applications went into black) I have tried the to log in with unity 2d log out and back in with unity 3d with no result. I also tried to exucute the unity --reset when logged into unity 2d. This made the unity disapere and coming back in its 3d form. Still with the flikering. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963093 Title: Unity 5.8: Flickering and corruption on Unity UI elements To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/963093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 900908] [NEW] Default-application-chooser doesent do anything
Public bug reported: I tried to edit what applications to be default in my Unbuntu setup, but apperantly it does not apply my new settings through out the system. Eg. I used to have banshee as my default music player, but now I want to use the Movie player to play music. I change the settings in my system settings but still banshee opens every time I try to open a music file. Same applies for movies, which used to be played in Movie player, but should now open in VLC. They still opens in Movie Player though ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.2.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-13.22-generic 3.0.6 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-13-generic i686 ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Dec 6 21:17:50 2011 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-control-center InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Beta i386 (20110413) SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-10-13 (53 days ago) usr_lib_gnome-control-center: deja-dup 20.1-0ubuntu0.2 gnome-bluetooth3.2.0-0ubuntu2 indicator-datetime 0.3.1-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 oneiric running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900908 Title: Default-application-chooser doesent do anything To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/900908/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 900908] Re: Default-application-chooser doesent do anything
No worries. Just happy to help make ubuntu better. I clicked the small circle in the top right corner. Clicked system settings, then system info, shifted to default applications, made my changes and closed the window. My new settings are still the same when i reopen the window and same after reboot. But the changes havent had any effect. My music is usually mp3's or m4a's Movies are usually avi's. I guess these should already be fairly known mimetypes for movies and music. Finding the default application changer should almost be filed as a bug as well. It is pretty hard to find with out the help of google. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900908 Title: Default-application-chooser doesent do anything To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/900908/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 900908] Re: Default-application-chooser doesent do anything
I guess the bug is simular in the fact that changing the settings in defaulta applications does not change the settings for default application to open certain mimetype. If this is the case in bug #876897 then these are duplicate bugs, just with different mimetypes. [Bug 876676] [NEW] Speakers and headphones plays on low volume after update from 11.04 to 11.10
Public bug reported: My speakers and headphones used to be able to play perfectly loud and clear. After I updated from 11.04 to 11.10 I can hardly hear any thing. I've checked all preferences in the sound menu and all the programs that I usually play my media through, but I cant find the source for the problem. The volume is on high in all the programs and the main controller but still the sound is very low. I can hear some sound if I but my ear right next to the speakers but that's all.
