Please report back if it works or not for you.

thanks a lot! the headphone jack on the ultrasbase is working fine now.

[...] I hope some Ubuntu Kernel developer can cherry-pick this patch
into Ubuntu Jaunty kernel:

yeah, please add this patch to the jaunty kernel.
only a few lines of code, won't brake anything and would make a lot ultrabase
users happy. :)

[Bug 281732] Re: Mute button on thinkpad x200

2008-10-12 Thread ccc1
i found out more about this bug:

pressing the mute button writes 0 to /proc/acpi/ibm/volume. so in order to get
the desired
behavior it would be necessary to read out the volume level from
/proc/acpi/ibm/volume
before setting it to 0. save it somewhere and then if the users push the mute
button again
write the saved value back.

[Bug 83996] Re: Easytag does not write umlauts in file names

okay i solved the problem.
Since i was upgrading from an older ubuntuversion my locale was set to [EMAIL

LANG=de_AT.UTF-8. Using this locale for my migrated user solved the problem for

[Bug 151168] Re: Memory leak in nvidia-glx-new's GL_EXT_texture_from_pixmap

2008-03-14 Thread ccc1
yeah they can't reproduce it cause they are using cards with too much
memory. As someone wrote somewhere this problems disappears if one has
enough videomemory. So instead of sending nvidia hardware, they should
test with a mainboard with integrated nvidia graphics set videomemory to
32MB. Then they should be able to reproduce the bug ...

[Bug 130075] Re: Random pauses when transferring data at gigabit speeds with forcedeth driver

2008-02-20 Thread ccc1
I can confirm this bug in gusty.
I'm using an asus m2n-vm dvi mainboard. It suffice to pull some data from a
fast ftpserver and my box locksup complety. These lockups DON'T occur using the
gusty live-cd nor using a 7.04 live-cd. So it looks like the bug got introduced
with some update.

[Bug 183692] Re: Audio goes out of sync with video

2008-01-22 Thread ccc1
i can confirm a sync problem with totem:
I don't have any audio glitch, but when watching a movie after some time one
can notice that audio isn't in sync with the picture anymore.
Happens with many different videos and only with totem. Non gstreamer players
like vlc aren't affected.

Maybe this problem is caused by some update, cause everthing was fine a
few days ago ...

on the disk
3. Insert the disc in a WinXp maschine - the last character is truncated. so

Steps to reproduce:

2007-06-24 Thread ccc1
hi,

Just some more details for my last post. The 'border' under feisty is
exactly 64 characters.

So a file with a name consisting 65 characters (total: name + extension) the
last character of the extension is truncated under windows xp.
As written above under gnome-baker everthing is fine.

Unfortunatly i can't check under gusty, since i'm still using feisty.
maybe somebody else can test.

2007-05-02 Thread ccc1
Some remarks:

.) file-roller also doesn't display the empty audio_ts folder.
.) the filenames are displayed correctly if the image is mounted from
commandline so it looks indeed like a file-roller bug.

I attached a small test.iso.

[Bug 110942] File-Roller doesn't display names in dvd-video-isos correctly

2007-04-29 Thread ccc1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Steps to reproduce:

1) Rip a Video-Dvd to .iso with k3b.
2) display the content of the iso with file-roller

Every filename in the video_ts folder has the string ';1' appended at
the end.

This occurs also if one use another program to rip the dvd and it doesn't
matter if the dvd is encrypted or not. In winxp the filenames are displayed
correctly. It only happens with dvd-video-isos.
I'm using feisty.

2007-04-14 Thread ccc1
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

create a folder with whitespace on the desktop for example 'New Folder'.

Looks like whitespace isn't escaped correctly. Without whitespace file-

I attached subs for testing taken from some movie ( so don't wonder bout

try to play the test.avi with totem - totem hangs.

[Bug 102220] Re: totem hangs playing movie with external subs(idx/sub)

2007-04-10 Thread ccc1
Happens with every movie that has subs in the sub/idx format. these subs
consists of two files: a .sub and an .idx file. A rip made with dvd-rip
outputs this format for example.

Other subtitle formats like .sub or .srt work fine with totem-gstreamer.
Didn't get any error when i ran totem from the command line. totem just hangs
and it has to be killed ...

[Bug 103025] Re: (Feisty) VLC sound quality is poor for many video files

2007-04-08 Thread ccc1
I can confirm that bug on feisty beta. A few people at ubuntuforums.org
are having the same problem. Seems to be a feisty regression. used to
work fine in edgy.

The cracking sound is not limited to mp3s also happens with flac, wav,
wma It gets worse if one sets the volume higher. as ubu-for wrote
chaning the audio output to OSS fixes the problem, but since it worked
on edgy with the standard setting it would be nice to see that fixed in
feisty.

btw.: i'm also using the onboard sound of asus kv8 se

[Bug 49127] Re: Long file names are truncated without warning

2007-04-03 Thread ccc1
hi,

using gnomebaker is an option too, if the filename is not too long
(tried it with a filename consisting ~70 characters) the filename is not
displayed shortened in xp. but when i tried it with a filename with
~140 charaters it didn't work, but 70 characters should be enough ;)

anyway i still think somebody with knowledge about those iso9660
extension should have a look at this bug, since nautilus-cd-burner is
the default burning app so it should behave nicely ;)

Just wanted to bump this bug again, since it's still present in feisty!

In ubuntu the filenames are displayed correctly, but windows xp they
are truncated. maybe it's a xp bug? but one the otherhand if i burn with
GnomeBaker i didn't experience that bug ...

it's a pity because nautilus-cd-burner is a really nice app, but this
bug is pretty annoying if you have to exchange files btw. xp - ubuntu.

[Bug 82528] Re: Write load on DM-Crypt LUKS partition with reiserfs jams system

2007-02-18 Thread ccc1
I can confirm that bug.
Happens also in edgy with an encrypted ext3 partition.

a workaround is to renice the kjournald process i.e. renice -p `pgrep
kjournald`

[Bug 83921] Ekiga window doesn't stay on top

2007-02-07 Thread ccc1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

hi,

this bug occurs on edgy using ekiga 2.0.3.

it can be reproduced like this:

Set the ekiga window to stay on top.
call some number like for example 500 (for echotest).
Quit the call - window isn't set to stay on top anymore.

the box 'on top' that was ticked prior the call is just unticked
afterwards.

not a big issue, but still annoying sometimes.
