The simple answer is "not really" but that means it's a nice place to
make yourself known if you are interested in forging your own way and
proposing projects :)
SpreadUbuntu (which was talked about on this list a fair amount) is
still around: http://spreadubuntu.org/
Marketing-wise I spend most of my time getting folks to contribute
their slides, posters and other promo material that they create to
that site.
