Observe the Firefox Flicks contest. I would have to say that 85% of the submitted videos were simply not worth watching. Those Novell videos and their RH equiv were done by professionals with budgets. That being said, a Firefox Flicks style contest might not be such a bad idea. Shall we bug the Firefox Flicks guys for the software they run? It would be a good project for them, might ge t global coverage. The animation 'singing alien' (http://www.funlol.com/funpages/singing-alien.html) was a practice experiment and has become a famous standard too, for its author. If we like the idea, we may not need a big budget perhaps. That being said, a Firefox Flicks style contest might not be such a bad idea. I suspect that ubuntuvideo is best place for this, so lets get John enthused when he returns to us.
