[a...@ubuntu.com: TODOs from armel/thumb2 rebuild of main]
FYI, also sent to ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com non armel discussion should go there. - Forwarded message from Alexander Sack a...@ubuntu.com - From: Alexander Sack a...@ubuntu.com To: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com Subject: TODOs from armel/thumb2 rebuild of main X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.0 required=2.0 tests=none autolearn=disabled version=3.1.7-deb3 Hi all, over the weekend the mobile team rebuild the rest of main in order to get everything on armv7 and thumb2. The rebuild was moderately intrusive and touched ~320 source packages. Overall, it went really well with just a few ftbfs coming out of it. Most failures were not armel specific. The mobile team will go through the list and find proper assignees for each. If you see something you know up front that you want to work on it, just go ahead and take the bug. Here the bug list: 445621 - libgtk2-perl FTBFS on all archs -- test failures 533629 - libatomic-ops ftbfs on armel - armv7/__thumb2__ incompatible code 534280 - kcm-gtk ftbfs on ia64 -- build of 0.5.3-0ubuntu2 534281 - klibc ftbfs on all archs 534287 - libmad ftbfs on armel in lucid 534291 - libpst ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534293 - libtommath ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534294 - openoffice.org-voikko ftbfs on sparc in lucid 534297 - plasma-widget-quickaccess ftbfs on ia64 in lucid 534298 - transfig ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534300 - cdrdao ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534303 - cdebconf-entropy ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534307 - cdrkit ftbfs on all archs in lucid 534311 - gupnp-igd ftbfs on all archs in lucid - Alexander -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel - End forwarded message - - Alexander -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile
Thu, Feb 25 1100 UTC: 2nd IRC mini sprint on arm/thumb2 porting
Hi all, in order to get our outstanding thumb2 porting issues fixed, we are organizing a couple IRC mini sprints in #ubuntu-arm on irc.freenode.net. Our next session will be Thu, Feb 25 from 1100-1300 UTC. The list of identified porting issues is tracked here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/Thumb2PackageReviewList Thanks to Dave, we have great porting instructions here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/Thumb2PortingHowto Anyone interested in helping out on this is invited to join; you do not necessarily need arm hardware as we have emulation facilities in the archive. Thanks, - Alexander -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile

Re: Midbrowser and LANG environment variable

However, even if I set the locale, it seems the midbrowser ignore them. Does anyone have a clue? Below is my locale setting on the CRB. Please test the latest version in mobile/ppa/hardy ... that should set midbrowser to consider your LANG environment for selecting the UI locale. - Alexander -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile
Re: Midbrowser Japanese language pack is ready!

But I have the same question that you asked: Are they supposed to go into individual source package? Or do we just do whatever mozilla-firefox-locale-all does (grouping all locales into one source)? :-) Hi, we are currently importing initial translations for a subset of languages into launchpad [1]. For now we start with the firefox .xpis as initial translations and then have to change a few branding strings using launchpad to get the midbrowser branding. Based on that I will start to prepare translation .debs for midbrowser and upload them to the appropriate repositories. Anyway, we could import your .xpi directly; please share a link so I can review and upload it. I am thinking to make one but I want to avoid the duplicated effort. We can translate mozilla applications in launchpad now. Midbrowser should be translated that way. I can provide a helping hand on how to properly integrate this. - Alexander -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile

Once we have fixed the icons we can go ahead and QA for other blockers and if nothing seriously pops up make midbrowser 0.3 the default imo. * Looking into why bookmark not working in FF3.0 based Midbrowser. fixed in WORKING as well * Got some good performance numbers from QA on FF3.0 base Midbrowser. The average page rendering is close to 50% faster with the FF3.0 beta1 based code. However the startup time appears to be slower. We should switch to use system xulrunner-1.9 everywhere in mobile. Once the home screen (and midbrowser) use xulrunner-1.9, the important libs will already be loaded when starting midbrowser for the first time. * We have got permission from the owner of the grabanddrag addon to use in Midbrowser to provide finger scrolling. Isn't that code tri-licensed anyway?
