[Ubuntu-phone] Video scope & Youtube
I have a Meizu MX4 running Ubuntu Touch with update OTA-10 now and since OTA-9.1 the Video scope has been partly broken. It shows you the popular videos from Youtube and Vimeo but if you select a youtube video you just get a blank page. This before you it usually opens the browser. Vimeo on the other hand works fine. If you select a Vimeo video you a the description etc. and then you select it and the browser opens. Not anymore with the Youtube videos. What it is also rather irritation currently with Ubuntu Touch is the flaky video playback mostly again from Youtube sometimes when try to playback a video you may not get any picture just sound and sometimes it is reverse. I don't know if this caused by the Ubuntu Touch backend or by the app I might be using like the uReadIt app. Finally I find a bit strange that Ubuntu now includes Dekko as the mail client which is great but the gmail scope still only offers to open an e-mail in gmail web app. Kind Regards André Fettouhi -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-phone] Browser issue after update
Hi I updated to OTA-10 and noticed something odd. When opening a new tab in the browser the lower section of the screen previously showed two columns of frequently visited web pages. Now there is only one column on the left and an empty one on the right. I am guessing this was not intended? Also, text entry seems to be lagging a bit quite often now. Hello everyone, As already announced, OTA-10 is in the phased upgrade stage for our krillin, vegetahd and arale devices. Mako and flo users still need to wait a short while as we have found a last-minute issue [1] that we would need to fix before going live with the update - we apologise for that. it seems like so many of you are hacking this sync-evolution thing that it must be possible to turn it into some official 'project' and then put all your heads together around it and get it done in like 10 minutes... based on the brains I see here and the same goals... and if this link is that ( http://people.rapidrage.com.pl/~filip/projects/owncloudcmd/ ) then sorry and thanks for start! Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Freedom Box and Syncing
Just a quick thought: I've always imagined a free version of a Pogoplug to solve the whole sync discussion with ubuntu phone. http://freedomboxfoundation.org/ Something like Owncloud running on one of these that just kind of 'works' with low power. Syncs up your photos, videos, contacts, calendar and maybe connects with mom's and best friends freedom box to allow for multiple off-site backup of said personal data. Something plug-and-play but not running through a website like pogoplug... just a quick thought... -- Wayne Taylor signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Owncloud, U1 and CardDav/CalDav: Fresh Thread for Dummies
Hello, I've been trying desperately to keep up on the exciting stuff that's happening with Owncloud and Ubuntu One and cardDav/Caldav discussion in this list. However, I'm just not technical enough to fully understand. I wanted to start this thread so that someone technical involved in this might be able to update a guy like me. First, if you could confirm my understanding so far: 1. Ubuntu one: perhaps not the best option for now because... 2. Owncloud essentially takes care of everything that U1 can do and more and has active community development 3. Owncloud client: it seems as though some folks have 'nearly completed' an owncloud client? 4. CardDav/CalDav: is currently still not supported on the phone? 5. Community feature request/voting system: Joseph Liau mentioned a community voting/feature request idea associated with this list. This was just an idea or it's somewhere online that I cannot find? Unfortunately, I'm one of the people who had to flash back to a different phone because of no calendar sync. So I'm currently sitting on the sidelines praying that I can come back to the good team. Every other device I have is ubuntu but the most important one for my day-to-day is sitting here with stinky residue of nasty Google. I'm trying my best to remain technical and help, but it's hard because of daily demands. I'm here and ready to help but it seems like the Community discussion voting thing is the best way that I could help you all. Let me know how I can help because I really want to see this thing in my pocket again before the summer... Thanks for all your hard work everyone and if I can help, let me know how. -- Wayne Taylor signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] owncloud-client-cmd on the phone
I would like to help out if I can. But my (limited) experience is mainly in qml/js. Its just that putting energy in something that is not going to work as a regular ubuntu app, which normal users could download from the official store, is not something I am looking for. I'll publish necessary scripts around Thursday on my github. I will surely be checking out those scripts and give my feedback. I take it that this is your Github Filip? https://github.com/fihufil Thanks for the work so far! [Ubuntu-phone] Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 released
Hello everyone, We have just copied most of the OTA-10 images to the stable channels and started the phased upgrade procedure. I mentioned 'most' as for now we only prepared krillin, vegetahd and arale. Mako and flo will be following shortly, we just need a few more hours for those - but those will be happening today as well. As always, all users should see the update on their phones tomorrow at latest. The release notes page for this OTA including all the necessary information - along with changes, image numbers, issues and commitlogs: * https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes/OTA-10 Once again big thanks to everyone participating in this release! It was a huge update and a big challenge with all the new devices appearing, but I hope everyone will be satisfied with what we prepared.
