+1 this function is very very needed. And not only for calls, for SMS too.

I found this bug-report for messaging-app, it is 1 year old:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/messaging-app/+bug/1469535

And this for dialer-app:

I want to be able to block specific phone numbers from getting through

Reason is this; where I live there is a lot of people who try to sell
stuff, beg for donations or right out abuse people's accounts. I'm want
all that stopped.

instead I want to reroute these calls to a custom mp3-file saying...
what ever I want to say to them. It would be nice if I could attach a

I would love that feature too! It can be even more expanded but just this

Hi Tom,

Thanks very much for your note.

The wiki page is meant to be a consolidation of our best thinking on
this topic. I'd love to see someone pick up the collection of ideas and
make a project of it. So, it is "alive" in the sense that it is incubating.

We built a prototype which was based on an older (now deprecated)
Spotify API. We always intended Spotify to be just one of a number of
services which could be supported in the app. The idea being that
developers could contribute support for other music platforms which
are popular to them or in their region - given not everyone can get
Spotify (or Pandora, Soundcloud etc).

Spotify is a bit of a trickier one than most, so that's on hold for
the short term. Right now we're looking at other options including
OwnCloud/NextCloud & local LAN music playback. If developers are
interested in helping here, especially if there's some service you
think we should integrate, which you can assist with, that would be
awesome.

[Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 15.06.16

2016-06-15 Thread Lukasz Zemczak
Hello everyone,

More exciting landings today as we're slowly nearing to String Freeze
for OTA-12: a new sync-monitor, new webbrowser-app (UITK now handling
enter/space key-presses for list item activation), a new bugfix
release of ubuntu-ui-toolkit, a bugfix for content-hub (sharing from
webbrowser now includes the page title + the URL), new camera-app,
gallery-app and ubuntu-ui-extras, new ubuntu-themes with idle,
inactive and active states of the location indicator, a new
location-service (exporting service state information), new
indicator-location with visual feedback when location-service is used
by apps/scopes and finally a new media-hub (enabling some metadata via
MPRIS over DBus).

From pending landings we have a new unity8 landing that makes the dash
run confined. We'll talk more about it once it lands somewhere around
tomorrow.

As for frieza and cooler daily builds, we suspect we should be able to
resume those around tomorrow as well. We'll keep everyone informed
about what changed once it's done.

Cheers,

I started a small QML app I wrote. This by its own does not create a
new Sink. There must be more logic behind the scene.

how this

new handset compares to mine from a usability standpoint (crashing,
hanging, overall speed, etc).

What's the name of your app and do you have a github link to your app? I'll
do my best to chase this up for you.
Also, you can still enter the competition if you have made the app
convergent :-)

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] baresip for BQ E4.5 and M10 with working audio

2016-06-15 Thread Reiner Klenk
Mixer GUI could be useful, but generally everything should work without it.
You don't want to change the sink volume because that affects all possible
sound sources. The way it works now ist that an app creates a playback
device in pulseaudio and the volume rocker changes the volume of that
specific playback device as long as the app is in focus. That way the
volume can be set differently for each app. In addition there is a slider
to change the ringtone volume in settings. I don't know how this creation
of a playback device and attaching it to the volume rocker is done. The
problem with baresip seems to be that the volume rocker ist not attached to
its pulseaudio playback device. You can list the playback devices with
"pactl list sink-inputs". Could be that if you make a GUI wrapper for
baresip this would work automatically.

I've played around this morning with the 'call failed' and 'd e...@iptel.org'
i.e. dialing a working echo service. One can manipulate the volume of
the audio-out with commands like this:

$ pactl info
Server String: /run/user/32011/pulse/native
Library Protocol Version: 30
Server Protocol Version: 30
Is Local: yes
Client Index: 120
Tile Size: 65496
User Name: phablet
Host Name: ubuntu-phablet
Server Name: pulseaudio
Server Version: 6.0
Default Sample Specification: s16le 2ch 44100Hz
Default Channel Map: front-left,front-right
Default Sink: sink.primary
Default Source: source.primary
Cookie: 50a1:3c1e

$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary -50%
$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary -50%

(now no audio at all)

$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary +50%
$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary +30%
$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary -30%
$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary -10%
$ pactl set-sink-volume sink.primary -10%

(now we are at level 30% absolute)

With this last level of volume one can even dial the echo service
without headset.

I'm wondering why the pulseaudio server, when it exists, has no GUI
frontend. I will file a bug in LP.

If I find a way to do so, the UK online store would fit your needs?.
