[Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 29.08.16

Hello everyone,

We're currently semi-frozen for OTA-13. It's not like a regular Final
Freeze because we have a few more silos with required changes we still
need to squeeze in before we're in a releasable state. In the meantime
no other non-OTA-13-required silos are accepted to the QA queue.

And so today we only had a new release of camera-app (fixing camera
controls in landscape, desktop fixes) + new ubuntu-ui-extras. The rest
is still in-progress.

This week we'll also need a translation re-spin as we were missing one
important pot file in our exports (indicator-keyboard) and some
important translation strings - most notably of the new
system-settings updates panel. Be sure to try and help out if you can!

Oh, and since we had apparmor profile changes landed last week, don't
be surprised that the latest rc-proposed image has a longer first-boot
after upgrade. We might think about respinning device tarballs to not
force all our stable users waiting on the boot screen for too long -
for OTA-13.

No, I didn't, except UT Tweak Tool. But it was more than month ago, to 
tweak some settings. And it was done step by step as on my Meizu MX4.


I fixed the ownership after writing the previous letter. But now some 
apps just won't start :D for ex. Terminal and File Manager. Something 
fishy is going on... permissions in .config and .local/share are set to 
normal now comparing to my MX4 (just to be sure all is normal)

definitely never do ...

on all devices here all folders under ~/.local/share are owned by
phablet.phablet as they need to.

better make sure to fix the ownership of these folders with chown ...

this looks like you started some apps as root, which you should

btw, I want to add. Something strange is going on with this folder. 
Folder owner of many folder is root, but not for all. Some apps with 
root owner just can't launch. Look for ls -l in attachment

Just renamed ubuntu-system-settings folder, then ubuntu-system-settings 
created a new one.

Well, when I updated correctly and then just compared old folder and new 
one.

I did, right after writing here.

For some reason permissions were wrong. I can't reproduce permissions 
state when the problem came up because I renamed this folder from root. 
Now I changed permissions of old folder to correct ones and everything 
is working.


But it is still a bug, because I didn't open Terminal, didn't connect to 
device from PC or even open a File Browser for >2 weeks. Just using 
phablet as a regular user. Permissions changed by something else and it 
is interesting...what could cause that?

Are you sure you are on #173? From what I see on system-image the
cooler device in the rc-proposed channel is currently on image #119,
with frieza (the M10) being on #174 now.

Anyway, if you know that you're not on the latest touch image and
don't see an image update notification, could you try running
`system-image-cli -n -vv` on the device and paste us the output? This
way we'll at least know if the system-image parts are working, with
maybe only issues with the panel not correctly displaying the current
status.

Hello, I have a problem on my M10 FHD (Cooler) witch is on rc-proposed
channel (r173 now). I can't receive any updates for system image or any
installed app. I even receive a notify in message indicator, but when I
open update manager it searches for updates and found nothing. There
should be updates at least for some apps for 100%. Rebooting and
shutdowning device didn't help. My Meizu MX4 is updating normally with
the same network connection.

How this can be fixed? Maybe some cache files are broken?
