dovecot-postfix

2011-02-14 Thread Egbert Jan van den Bussche
Since I had a problem after the last update, my main.cf was overwritten,
I wonder if it is possible to uninstall just the combined
dovecot-postfix package without doing harm to dovecot and postfix.

For some reason (somebody else installed trhe server) the ubuntu
specific dovecot-postfix stack was installed but I always handled the
server as separate postfix and dovecot server.

I would be very happy if I could get rid of JUST the dovecot-postfix
stack. (and keep my main.cf from being overwritten in the future).

TIA

Never had this problem. It is not clear if you run the conbination
config postfix-dovecot supplied as meta-package or just the two servers
installed om their own. I run the same two programs but stayed away from
any pre-cooked config. Both have there own config in their own /etc
directory. Much more flexible.

 Hello,

I have recently been working on deploying a new server based around
hardy (after using Dapper for many years its time for an upgrade).
Unfortunately one of the key components required for that server
 (Gallery2) is not currently working.

I have been looking at any possible error and have been
 unable to find
what the problem is. If I enable debug it looks to me as though its
silently failing. I have looked through the suhosin patch
 details and
turned on logging but get nothing back. Can anyone give any advice on
this patch so that I can continue to debug it?

 Regards,

 Jimmy

Just installed Gallery2 from repo (using apt-get) on 8.10 server. Seems to
work. Version is 2.2.6 which is old. I'll probably deinstall again and
install from tarball. Then I can also control where it goes.
