I have some servers to install tomorrow night, so I'll test this again. In the (surprising and reasonably unlikely) event that RAID and LVM support is actually broken in d-i, we'll certainly try to provide fixes in the next point release. -- Ivan Krstic <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | GPG: 0x147C722D -- ubuntu-server mailing list ubuntu-server@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server

A couple of things: [1] Do you not think it might have been wise to actually /mention/ this, in the setup program at the very least? This is a major change in hardware requirements since 5.10 which works fine on the same hardware. [2] Thanks for the tip, but it is just a tip, rather than actual guidance. How do I actually go about changing the kernel of a not-yet-fully installed system? Presumably I must pass some option to the setup program, but pressing the options function key on the boot screen merely shows me the command line that will be executed by GRUB. I see no mention of how to change the kernel to be installed. -- Liam Proven · Blog, homepage &c: http://lproven.livejournal.com/profile Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] · GMail/Google Talk/Orkut: [EMAIL PROTECTED] AOL/AIM/iChat: [EMAIL PROTECTED] · MSN/Messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] · Skype: liamproven · ICQ: 73187508 -- ubuntu-server mailing list ubuntu-server@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server

This was originally a part of the Dapper server-candy spec. > So far I have drafted some stuff our on the wiki at > http://wiki.ubuntu.com/VersionControlledEtc Good start, thanks for writing it up. I think there have been several proposals to implement this through the Summer of Code program, but if it doesn't get done that way, it'll likely be high up on the Server Team's list for Edgy. People with other server-related ideas should post about them on the ubuntu-server list or approach me on IRC, so Adam and I can discuss them at UFK. I'm looking for people who would be interested in such a work, i.e. Ubuntu port of SMF service manager and SMFication of existing Ubuntu packages. This would make a great project for hackers looking for their claim to Ubuntu fame. So, want to get involved? Get in touch with Erast, and let's get the ball rolling.
