[Bug 807153] Re: DNSSEC-enabled named sometimes does not die on "service bind9 stop"

2012-05-01 Thread Ben Coleman
I'm also seeing this problem on 2 of the machines under my control.
Two others running bind9 do notpo have this problem. The two that have
this problem do have DNSSEC enabled (though only one of them is actually
serving a DNSSEC-using zone).

This seems to be related to Debian bug #570852 (http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=570852), which is fixed by the upstream 9.8.1
release, which is included in Precise. I'll try to upgrade one of the
affected servers this weekend and see if that fixes it.

2012-05-01 Thread Adam Gandelman
Hi Chris-

Thanks for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Can you
confirm whether or not this report is from the same system as that
described in Bug #990751 ? That is, was this generated from a
subsequent attempt at repairing or working around the other previously
reported bug? Thanks

[Bug 988397] Re: Autofs does not clean up /proc/mounts when stopped

2012-05-01 Thread agenkin
I've done some more experimenting, and it appears that stopping autofs
(using "stop autofs") while in multiuser removes autofs-related lines
from /proc/mounts. However, when /etc/rc6.d/S40umountfs in run level 6
is running I've verified that /proc/mounts still contains autofs-related
entries.

[Bug 497790] Re: squid should provide an apparmor profile

2012-05-01 Thread Simon Déziel
Here is my own profile that works with Squid3 (squid2 is no longer in
Precise). I run it in production but I do not use any external auth. A
quick comparison with PatRiehecky's profile showed the my profile does
not have and that might or might not be required
by some external auth. My profile is compatible with squid-deb-proxy
though (also used in prod).

@Jamie, considering I haven't tested my profile with external auth, do
you recommend I send it to the Apparmor mailing list ?

[Bug 919068] Re: bridge_ports all doesn't work at boot time

2012-05-01 Thread Steve Langasek
That seems far removed from the original issue. What are the contents
of /etc/resolv.conf on your system? Where are your DNS servers being
configured? The /etc/network/interfaces from the original bug report
shows no dynamic or static sources of DNS, so installing resolvconf
(which is required, and automatically pulled in on upgrade to 12.04)
should have made /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail a symlink to
/etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/original and pulled this DNS information
in when generating /etc/resolv.conf.

[Bug 875440] Re: Cannot authenticate with saslauthd and mysql

2012-05-01 Thread E.T. Anderson
I can confirm this effects Precise 12.04.

I was able to somewhat work around this by changing the SASL auth
mechanism from 'pam' to 'rimap' though I have yet to get authentication
working in Roundcube. At lest testsaslauthd succeeds with the rimap
mechanism.

2012-05-01 Thread Daniel Senderowicz
I just upgraded to 12.04. As the machine boots, it seems to connect to
the network since I can ping to IPs, however it cannot resolve DNS. In
other words if I do "ping google.com" it would say "unknown host
google.com". Please let me know what kind of specific information you
may need.

Thanks,

Daniel

I played around with this a bit and derived that it is due to the length
of the hostname (at least in my case). With a hostname of length 40 I
can reproduce this error. Setting the hostname to <= 37 produces the
correct results.

[Bug 992632] [NEW] If daemonize=1 is set in /etc/mcollective/server.cfg, service fails to start

2012-05-01 Thread Konrad Scherer
Public bug reported:

On 12.04 using 1.2.1+dfsg-2ubuntu1

Mcollective has a config variable to control whether mcollective
daemonizes itself. If this is set, then upstart attempts to start the
mcollective process 10 times. Each instance hangs and the service fails
to start.

Probably the best way to handle this would be to add a parameter to
/usr/sbin/mcollectived to override the config file setting.

[Bug 992520] Re: package winbind 2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

2012-05-01 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Also, in general, bug reports for any missing features are welcome.

[Bug 967410] Re: Windows clients cannot connect to shared printers

2012-05-01 Thread Evgeny
The same for me. I'm trying to connect from Windows (XP and 7) to a shared
printer on Ubuntu Server 12.04. And both on WinXP and Win7 get the same error
as others in this thread after drivers installation (in Russian: "Windows не
удается подключиться к принтеру. Введено неправильное имя принтера или
указанный принтер утерял подключение к серверу").
At the same time, I can add a network printer, using
"http://:631/printers/", but it is not convenient for
the users.

[Bug 665512] Re: can't print after upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10

2012-05-01 Thread Jack
hi.
I think that this printing problem is back. After a fresh install of Ubuntu
12.04 I can't print. Actually I can't autenticate to the printer's server.
Keep geting "Print share inaccessible".
I've tried to add a network printer using "system-config-printer" and I'm
getting this when error:

"no talloc stackframe around, leaking memory
Kinit failed: Configuration file does not specify default realm
Caught non-fatal exception. Traceback:
File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/newprinter.py", line 2171, in
on_btnSMBVerify_clicked

PermissionError: (13, 'Permission denied')"

[Bug 992409] Re: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature

2012-05-01 Thread Liam
** Description changed:

The acpitz virtual device on my laptop reports an incorrect temperature.
This also leads to poor fan control (fan is either on full, or
completely off). I would expect the temperature to be similar to that
  from k10temp.

  $ sensors
