[Bug 425996] Re: package postfix 2.5.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2009-10-18 Thread thomraw...@hotmail.com
Not having the error because I deleted all the related postfix files and
then reinstalled without a problem.

[Bug 425996] [NEW] package postfix 2.5.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2009-09-07 Thread thomraw...@hotmail.com
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: postfix

tasksel: aptitude failed (100)

I tried installing a mail server using the tasksel feature. I had
previously installed the mail server in ubuntu version 8.04. Then I un-
installed it because I was having trouble with my configurations. Then
I upgraded to ubuntu 8.10 and tried the postfix/dovecot installation
again from tasksel.

Prior to installing, I manually deleted some of the postfix directories
under /etc and elsewhere in an effort to get a clean configuration.
Apparently this is not something I should have done as I suspect those
missing directories are part of the reason I couldn't get a clean
install.

I'll try to clean up my installation. But I'm not sure why apt should
fail if some directories are missing for an installation.

ProblemType: Package
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
ErrorMessage: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Package: postfix 2.5.5-1
SourcePackage: postfix
Title: package postfix 2.5.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess
post-installation script returned error exit status 1

[Bug 345219] Re: 8.04 server ppc - apache2 server fails after upgrade

2009-03-29 Thread thomraw...@hotmail.com
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: libapache2-mod-php5

  * Restarting web server apache2 apache2: Syntax error on line 185 of
/etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/mods-
enabled/php5.load: API module structure 'php5_module' in file
/usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp5.so is garbled - expected signature
41503232 but saw 3232 - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO, or
was compiled for a different Apache version?

Looks like the new libphp5.so is not compiled properly. This was working
well until last week. After I did an upgrade, the apache2 server won't
  restart.

System is an iMac G3 BW (1GB RAM) running 8.04 server, LAMP, OpenSSH,
  and Postfix.

+
+ Also, this appears to be related to the php5-xmlrpc extension. Without
+ this extension, the apache2 server seems to work fine.

[Bug 345219] Re: 8.04 server ppc - apache2 server fails after upgrade

2009-03-29 Thread thomraw...@hotmail.com
Looks like the issue has been resolved either by a recompile of the
affected library or by some other miraculous means. I've got it working
on my server after a reinstall of the component php5-xmlrpc.
