The 8.4.x changelog is here: http://git.drbd.org/?p=drbd-8.4.git;a=blob;f=ChangeLog;hb=HEAD Based on this, it looks like we're getting in 8.4.3 over 8.4.2 are bugfixes, so given that we can't also update the kernel version I think it makes sense to continue with the mismatch and go ahead and upload 8.4.3 to the archive. Debian agrees in principle; discussion at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=659353 However, I just realised I based my package on 8.3.13-1 instead of 8.3.13-2 because the Debian git repository is not up to date. Lionel, I've uploaded 2:8.4.3-0ubuntu1~ppa2 to my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~racb/+archive/experimental). This merges changes in Debian's 8.3.13-2, which includes turning off the kernel version check. Please could you check that this works as you expect; then we can get it uploaded? Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I have reproduced the problem on raring and prepared an updated package. I first hoped that Now builds on Linux-3.7 from the 8.3.15 changelog entry would fix this problem, but I had the same problem. Then I tried 8.4.3 (latest upstream), and this seems to work fine (except for the warning that the kernel module is at 8.4.2). I've uploaded my test 8.4.3 package build to my experimental PPA (https://launchpad.net/~racb/+archive/experimental/). Please could you test the package from here and check that it is fully functional? Should I be using 8.4.2 instead of 8.4.3 to get the version to match the raring kernel? Thanks for your care. I'll give the packages a try. I guess any 8.4.x version would be OK. However I don't expect the DRBD module to be upgraded in Raring because they are in the mainline kernel now. Linux 3.8 has DRBD 8.4.2, so you might as well ship the same drbdadm version.
