Entered the command 'sudo apt-get install dovecot-imapd dovecot-pop3d' to see numerous failures. Postfix seems to work using telnet but 'cause I don't know what's what right now it is difficult to help with the problem report. Sorry folks! The machine has limited memory (~0.63G) which I suspect might be an issue. Synaptic shows various dovecot elements installed including -common. So this might simply be an exception handling event to manage the previous installation. Hi! Thank you for reporting bugs and trying to make Ubuntu Server better. Unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce the issue you are experiencing. Could you please try the following: Once that is finished, try the following, which will try to configure any unconfigured packages: sudo dpkg --configure -a Try to install any missing packages: sudo apt-get -f install Now I also notice one thing in DpkgTerminalLog that might be the cause of error: 1. hostname: Name or service not known Please verify that the hostname utility is installed and the hostname of your machine is correctly set. If you can provide exact instructions on how to reproduce the bug it will be more helpful for us to determine the issue. For now I'm marking this bug as incomplete.
