FWIW, I have never seen any of my apps with that color scheme in Ubuntu
Studio since upgrading to Gutsy. Luckily, I don't like all the black, it's
hard for me to read. I used to curse it in Feisty, because some of the
pull-down menus would have black text on a black background, and I just had
to guess what the text said.
BTW I am now hearing noises from Rosegarden using the FluidSynth DSSI
plugin. I have some further questions, but I'll wait for another e-mail.
Thanks to all who have helped.

Nothing huh?

I'm really surprised, and pretty much disgusted too. Spit. Kiss my ass then.

Well, I tried it on my test system (upgraded from alpha4) with an pci
card for PA and an usb device for jack, and PA doesn't shut down. Maybe
it's an update-related-problem. It is no problem to me however.

I'll do a fresh install once hardy is released. We'll see if it's still
the same then.

Philipp

I diddled around with a couple of different suggestions people made in
response to previous queries on that matter, but nothing actually worked. If
you do come up with a suggestion that does the job, we should publish it
widely, and in an idiot-proof format.

I rarely reboot anyway, so I can live with this. It sure is annoying though.

There is a way to force it to use the same one every time.
I think it is done with alsa's configuration.
When I get a chance, I will look it up.
