no.. no need for a bug report here, since you are not using ubuntustudio.
you will troubleshoot this with kxstudio support. sorry, i had intended
before to ask you to use the suggestion from the error message and run the
command from the terminal with the "ulimit -c unlimited" option.. you can
try the unsupported ppa i mentioned which will offer java 8 AFAIK.. you can
try with stock ubuntustudio from a live CD.. good luck!

i personally havent used it.. can you start the application from the
terminal and get any specific error messages from the crashes? is this with
JACK? do you see any relevant JACK messages? does the crash cause
JACK/pulse to crash? or is it the other way around?

what version of java? you could try adding an unsupported ppa to add a

could be that tuxguitar needs an older version. what does tux guitar report

Done some more attempts, crash happens even when pressing cancel or
'escape' when in the setup options.

I can't even get the option to change audio system to pulse or jack, it
crashes before I enter the audio settings menu.

starting from terminal, it seems like java is crashing, but I don't know
much about Java in general, so... :

if packages are not in the default repos, they cannot be added, and are not
officially supported. you could suggest to dropbox to provide these tools
to you for the filemanager you choose to use.. they could bundle them in
with the linux clients, or make them available on their site.. cheers!

2013-11-14 Thread bart deruyter
Hi all,

I'm experiencing quite some issues with tuxguitar. When wanting to change
some settings, it always crashes.

More specifically when I click on 'Skins' or 'Sound' it always crashes.
Especially the 'Sounds' section of the settings is important, but I can't
access it this way.

Anyone else experiencing this issue, maybe even with a fix?

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish? I use Thunar (which is
the default FM in Ubuntu Studio as in Xubuntu and Xfce) with my
Dropbox, but perhaps you are using it differently since you require
Nautilus?

Try Marlin, that's the best FM that I know of.

[ubuntu-studio-users] I send a problem to WebUpd8 Nemo PPA that not working fine on UbuntuStudio 13.10

2013-11-14 Thread Washington Indacochea Delgado
I send a problem to WebUpd8 Nemo PPA that not working fine on UbuntuStudio 13.10

http://www.webupd8.org/2013/10/install-nemo-with-unity-patches-and.html

HOW TO INSTALLL NEMO-DROPBOX FROM WEBUPD8 PPA

Download Dropbox Daemon
https://www.dropbox.com/install?os=lnx

Select your O.S.

32-bit:

cd ~ && wget -O - "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86"; | tar xzf
-

64-bit:

cd ~ && wget -O - "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86_64"; | tar
xzf -

If you had used nautilus-dropbox delete it from synaptic or from terminal
sudo dpkg -r nautilus-dropbox, and remove this folders:

rm -R Dropbox
rm -R ~/.dropbox
rm -R ~/.dropbox-dist

You need to delete one folder and two hidden folder. If you do not do this
will not work.

Now add the WebUpd8 PPA and install:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/nemo
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nemo nemo-fileroller nemo-dropbox

Follow the Dropbox instructions that appeare for Dropbox. Restart.

But this nemo has some problems, sometimes not copy and paste (this is very
bad). And have problems with bluetooth on my computer because when I put a
external bluetooth IOGEAR, o icon appeared on UbuntuStudio 13.10 like 13.04.
And seeing WebUpd8 Nemo dependencies in Synaptic says that breaks
gnome-bluetooth that is installed by default in UbuntuStudio 13.10 (I cant
uninstall this gnome-bluetooth for broken my system)

My Laptop Dell Inspiron 1750 with UbuntuStudio 13.10 32-bits
