[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 897056] Re: Ubuntu falls behind Fedora, Mint, openSUSE

2011-11-27 Thread Madhu Mohan
The article says that, with the new default interface (desktop) that was
included from 11.04, users are not happy and find difficult in using the
OS.

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] Launchpad Strings Count

2011-11-27 Thread Milo Casagrande
Hello everybody,

did anybody else experienced strange behavior with the way Launchpad
shows the "statistics" for each translation?

Looking here:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/onboard/+pots/onboard/it/+details

Looks like there are 77 untranslated strings, but it is not like that,
they are much less.
Same thing happened the other day with translations a member of the
Italian team did, and I noticed that Launchpad still shows those
strings as untranslated (the translations were done 2 day ago).

Is it a know problem?

I exchanged a couple of emails with onboard developers.
Looks like the 0.96 version is right, since it was granted a non-SRU
acceptance into the repository. onboard 0.96.1 is in the proposed
archives, and will probably land in main any time soon.

The relevant bug where it was accepted is this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/+bug/872374

I think we should have be warned at least, since it had also
untranslated strings.
Ciao.

Re: [Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] Sharing with open permission

2011-11-27 Thread Milo Casagrande
Hello everybody,

a quick update on this side.

I talked with Onboard developers, and they agreed to modify the
permission that now are "structured". I suggested them to appoint it
also to the Launchpad Translators, but they kept it under the Ubuntu
Translators umbrella.

The good part in this case was that the project was sharing only the
template with Ubuntu, not the translations. This is good, but is also
not so good, since Ubuntu Oneiric has onboard version 0.95, but now it
is sharing the template with the 0.96 version, that doesn't look like
the same as the 0.95.

I asked them if they could fix that too.

Ciao.

[Ubuntu-translations-coordinators] [Bug 818057] Re: installer slideshow text has strange strings

2011-11-27 Thread GTriderXC
I made corrections to all other strings and forgot that one. I'd like to
say sorry to all Xfce users assuring that it will never happen again.
Especially now after 11.10 release with no GNOME session I'm switching
to Xfce myself. I'll support Xfce now not less than Unity.
