 Yes, same problem as for Swedish (sv)

 Hi all,

 This is due to bug 442742 [1]. Just to summarize the comments in the bug
 report: the server where the language packs are built is running out of
 space, an issue which needs to get fixed urgently.

 Once there is enough space, the language packs will be rebuilt and
 released again.

Russian affected too. Testing is stalled... Any idea about when new
packages might be available?

Where can I find the F1.txt to translate ?

2009-10-07 Thread Quynh Vu Do
Hi,

I have just tested the Karmic beta release.
After burning the iso file and booting the live CD, I started to change the
language (F2) to Vietnamese. The live CD menu appears 100% in Vietnamese and
that's cool !

However, pressing F1 (Help) still shows up the content in full English.

Where can we find the f1.txt file template to translate it to Vietnamese?
I think it has already been translated for Jaunty, but still in karmix it
remains in English.

Thanks for any hint.

Thanks for the info.

After checking, it appears almost fully translated to Vietnamese. Is it
truely specific to Ubuntu
Maybe we need to translate this package in Debian and not in launchpad ?
That would be one reason why it still appears not translated on the live CD
? or is it simply because there is not enough room on the live CD to
accommodate for all the f1.txt language files ?

Any further ideas and confirmation that this package has to be translated in
Launchpad and not in Debian ? If it's in Debian, does anyone knows where to
get it ?

Thanks in advance

ShipIt label translations

2009-10-07 Thread David Planella
Hi all,

The ShipIt folks have asked for some help in translating some text on
the labels of the free ShipIt CDs into the following languages:

* Spanish
* Brazilian Portuguese
* Simplified Chinese
* Traditional Chinese
* Russian

They are for the attention of customs and it would be awesome if some of
you guys who speak those languages could contribute in their translation
on the wiki page:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/ShipItLabels

Thanks!

Regards,
David.

Long tail of wrong translation language, how to correct?

2009-10-07 Thread Andika Triwidada
Dear translation admins,

There are several strange translation suggestion for Indonesian. For example:
https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/kde-guidance/+pots/guidance/id/87/+translate
This translation comes from different language (Hungarian?),
definitely unrelated to Indonesian.

It will appear as an annoying suggestion for translations like in:
https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/gdm/+pots/gdm/id/206/+translate
and many other places.

I think this is related to bug #133315:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-guidance/+bug/133315

What is the best way to prevent those wrong suggestion from keep reappearing?

Thanks

Call for karmic translations

2009-10-07 Thread Steve Langasek
Dear translators,

With the Karmic beta release out and the string freeze in place, the time is
right to work on translations for Ubuntu 9.10.

With improvements to LP Translations having landed in this cycle, we should
be in good shape with respect to the importer, and translations are now
being shared more effectively between releases. The statistics at
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+translations bear this
out: Spanish is over 96% translated already, and French, Brazilian
Portuguese, Swedish, German, and British English are (again) at over 80%.

Let's see some other languages make it to the top here before release!

The deadline for non-language pack translations (such as for the installer
and debconf templates) to be included in the release is Thursday, October
15, and the deadline for language pack translations is a week later on
October 22. The full timeline for the Karmic release can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KarmicReleaseSchedule for your reference.

Thanks,
