Hello,

I want to inform you that the translations are simply to
long for over 30 languages,

A link to the translation platform/zone would be handy.
Is it in Launchpad ?

Sveinn í Felli

this affects:

AMNATIC

ASTURIANU

BELARUS

--

ISLENSKA

---

TELEGU

TIENG VIET

In these languages, the user is not able to read the last F6
Option from the ISOLINUX menu.

Also I want to note that

BENGA

THAI

do not have any translations for the start options, and the
F(unction) Options, but for the Help (to find at F1)

I am unsure of GATEGO

The translations for HINDI and KHMER are broken in the Help
(to find at F1)

If you know one of these languages PLEASE fix it.

I have to say that I dont know where the link to the
translation series is, I am sorry for that.

Please understand the importance of this, to users.

If you fixed a translation, you can mark it HERE:

, too.

If I was wrong, I am sorry for that, please post that, too.

I thank you for helping :-)

Hi again,

Got a link by private mail:

If this is the correct Launchpad series, I don't see where
the problem lies for my language (Icelandic -is). A couple
of strings/lines are close to 60 characters but I don't
think any exceeds any such theoretical limit.

Is there a defined limit?

Regards,
Sveinn í Felli

So here's another update:

Unfortunately the KDE translations take a few days to get imported into
Launchpad (it's a huge upload with 32K files to import), so even after
delaying the final language pack export as much as possible last night,
not all of them got imported in time. In any case, they will be released
in a new language pack shortly after release.

Another set of translations to mention is that from the Calligra suite.
Due to the way they are packaged (neither in the gettext nor in the KDE
layout), they did not get automatically imported into Launchpad, and we
are currently looking at ways to import them.

Cheers,
David.

Just a quick follow-up:

The language pack tarball export from Launchpad has finished,
ubuntu-docs translations are fetched directly from Launchpad, as
confirmed by Martin, and he tells me the final language pack build
including all those translations has started, so we're all good :)

Cheers,
David.
