The current SDK preview components (the sources of which are available when you install the packages) are already set up for translations, but at this point, I'd recommend waiting for late February or perhaps later, as we don't have any translations infrastructure set up in Launchpad yet. For those interested in more tech details, the SDK components use gettext for translation in QML, through the i18n.tr() family of functions, similar to _() in Python or in C. Stay tuned for more updates, we'll be able to translate the phone in due time! :-) Cheers, David. > Simos > > On Tue, Jan 8, 2013 at 4:10 PM, Anousak Souphavanh wrote: >> By the way,where can i download source to build for Samsung S2 and 3 or >> other hardware? >> :-) >> Anousak >> >> On 2013 1 8 21:03, "Ivan Akulov" wrote: >>> >>> +1 >>> >>> >>> On 8 January 2013 16:00, Anousak Souphavanh wrote: >>>> >>>> + >>>> >>>> Anousak >>>> >>>> On 2013 1 8 20:58, "Ko Ko Ye`" wrote: >>>>> >>>>> +1 >>>>> >>>>> On Tue, Jan 8, 2013 at 8:27 PM, Ibrahim Saed >>>>> wrote: >>>>>> >>>>>> +1 >>>>>> >>>>>> 2013/1/8 Yaron Shahrabani >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Dear friends! >>>>>>> Where are the translation strings needed for Ubuntu for phones? >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Or in other words: how can I translate Ubuntu for phones? ☺ >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Kind regards, >>>>>>> Yaron Shahrabani >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> -- >>>>>>> ubuntu-translators mailing list >>>>>>> ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com >>>>>>> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators >>>>>>> >>>>>> >>>>>> >>>>>> -- >>>>>> ubuntu-translators mailing list >>>>>> ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com >>>>>> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators >>>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> -- >>>>> 4eVeR fRiEnD >>>>> Ko Ko Ye` >>>>> kokoye2...@gmail.com >>>>> http://wiki.ubuntu.com/kokoye2007 >>>>> http://wiki.ubuntu.com/MyanmarTeam >>>>> http://loco.ubuntu.com/teams/ubuntu-mm >>>>> >>>>> -- >>>>> ubuntu-translators mailing list >>>>> ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com >>>>> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators >>>>> >>>> >>>> -- >>>> ubuntu-translators mailing list >>>> ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com >>>> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators >>>> >>> >> >> -- >> ubuntu-translators mailing list >> ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com >> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators >> > -- David Planella Ubuntu App Development Liaison http://gplus.to/dplanella / @dplanella www.ubuntu.com / www.davidplanella.wordpress.com signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- ubuntu-translators mailing list ubuntu-translators@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators

Re: Ubuntu for phones
To be able to contribute to the project, we need access to the repositories of Ubuntu Phone. I searched at Launchpad but I could not find any relevant. There is an "Ubuntu Phone" team at Launchpad, but it is not used for the current Ubuntu Phone project. I believe that the repositories will appear as soon as the first images for the Nexus appear, around February 2013. Having said that, Ubuntu Phone is currently in fast development, and it is not in string freeze shape for us to translate. However, once the source packages are available, it's only up to us to get it translated.
